Why should I register? |
Experience of running these discussion forums has proved that requiring users to register is the best way to combat trouble makers who are unlikely to spend the 30 seconds or so that it takes to register.
Registration is free, and there is no need to enter personal details. Your email address is required, but it can be optionally hidden, ensuring complete privacy.
Registration is free, and allows you to do the following:
- Post new threads
- Reply to other peoples' threads
- Edit your posts
- Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
- Send private messages to other members
- Enter events in the forum calendar
- Set up a 'buddy-list' to quickly see which of your friends are currently online
- Participate in the "Reputation" scheme
To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Please note that, due to abuse, we do not accept automatic registration from certain free email account providers. Your username can be anything you like, but some names may be restricted. Items such as website addresses, insults, profanity etc. are not permitted in user names and your registration may be changed or rejected if you try to use these. Please note that if you are registering your own personal name you may be asked to provide evidence of your identity. This is specifically the case where the name of a motorsport celebrity has been used. Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address, and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. (To verify this, you can try sending an email message to another user.) . The final stage of activating your registration is done by email, so please ensure that the email address you provide is valid and working.
If your e-mail address is not accepted then please contact webmaster@ten-tenths.com and request a manual registration. |

How do I get a flag under my name? |
To get a flag under your name, go to your Control Panel and then to Edit Profile.
There is a flag field there and you can select your country from the drop down. |
Choose your layout! |
At the bottom of the page, on the left hand side, you will see a drop down menu.
This allows you to decide which version of the display you would like to see.
If you prefer the "Classic" Tenths look, then select the option for 10Tenths - Solid. If you like a layout that resizes depending on the size of your screen, then select 10Tenths - Liquid.
If you are an affiliate user - or prefer to use an affiliate layout - you will also find these available on the menu. |
How do I remove the advertisements? |
Ten-Tenths is a non-profit making site run by volunteers and it takes a considerable amount of money to keep it online.
This revenue is generated by advertising.
However, we have introduced a scheme for those who don't wish to have adverts on their Tenths pages. For more information, see our Subscriber section. |
How do I get a picture under my username? / Avatars |
For users of good standing with more than 250 posts (or a subscriber), we now offer Avatars. You can either pick from the default avatars on the forum or upload one.
Our normal Code of Conduct
applies to Avatars. If you want to display an Avatar, please make sure it's appropriate to the forum. If you post an Avatar which is deemed to be offensive, in poor taste or not "family friendly", you will be asked to remove it. Similarly avatars which are designed to promote a product, service or website will be deemed as an attempt to advertise and you will be asked to remove it. We will not get into arguments about this. If a moderator deems the content inappropriate, then it needs to be removed. Refusal to remove an avatar - or persistent posting of unsuitable pictures - will lead to the avatar privilege being removed. We want you to have fun, but please use good judgement as well!
You can edit your Avatar here. |
