Thank you Peter, I see one pic pleasing at least two posters! As to the the white smoke is a Milanese ref to "we have a Pope"? Or my engine had a pop!

Beautiful selection of cars there Bob. Hard to justify pointing out a favourite as they are all great pics of gorgeous machinery but to me the Ferrari in #778 (a 246 or 801, whichever is irrelevant to my point) is just the epitome to me of what I use to perve in Dads Motor Sport mags when I was a kid.... the last of the front engined cars. Credit where credit is due that second photo down in #778 is glorious and a joy to see.
The #24 Talbot Lago T23 in the 'pre-war' Donington VSCC set is a standout too. All three sets are great but those two photos to me were stunning. Simple but stunning. I had a bit of a nostalgic moment over todays offerings! Thats quite enough praise from me for today..... any more and you wont find a hat or cap large enough to cover the shiny bits on the top of your head! Got to go to the chemist to get my tablets! Thanks as usual. |

I share EB's view on all the sets and particularly the Ferrari.

Thanks, both of you, from the viewing figures it obvious that a lot of people enjoy the pictures, but not many say so, Thank you both very much for your encouragement.
Mate, Bob. |

Great selections again, Bob.
I can't decide if the red car number 24 in post 784 is braking hard on very soft front springs or it's set up as a jacked up rear end. Either way I can't see the canvas hood giving much driver protection in a roll over. I assume these were also from the Pom. I liked the look of the red car number 21 in post 787 but I have no idea what it is. Any answers out there? |

Stuff it I will throw it out there. I thought it might be the 1948 Alvis Goodwin Special. The colour of the leather trim round the driving area and also the raised strip bit on the rear bodywork behind the drivers head on the rear looked familiar. That and the brakes. Anyway thats my thinking. (Thinking is something Bob the elder will no doubt say is not one of my strengths!) Probably wrong, but being a glass half full bloke i'm possibly right. Im very happy to be corrected.RBS will know! |
