Who knows? Obviously not Arnoux! Poor René looking for the pleasure to drive old cars of his youth. Quite a challenge.

I recognise a few of the faces and some I even know the names. As for the last photo, those who follow the BTCC will realise that it is a picture of a driver when he was considerably younger than he is now.

Pretty poor exam results overall, few entrants and no fully correct answers for post 62.Morning G and EB did well with 5 out of 6 (7),both mystified by different people. Well done chaps. RBS has had a 100% on cars but not too hot on people. Sadly the number of 'views' is considerably higher than the entrants. It was ever thus.
Ae you shy of being ridiculed? PMs are private, only I will know the truth, and I would never expose anyone to public humiliation - well maybe Viva and EB. Come on try your luck, it is all free. What are they; |

Thanks Bob. So obvious when you know the name. I recognised the face but couldnt put 2+2 together.
Re the Brock part of the quiz, I hate to have to correct you (ok I do it with glee ) but the Brock Humpy pic was not at the 2009 Revival. It would have been 2006, the year he died. (He died shortly after the revival as you mentioned, in fact 5 days after you would have taken the photo) However, it was the 2006 revival, he died 8th September 2006) Interestingly Brock never actually raced a 'Humpy' (aka a Holden 48-215 FX).... although he did have one as a road car. In fact he got his CAMS license in it. As an aside that Humpy he drove was not original but built earlier that year especially for Goodwood... it was very much a Goodwood Special. It had things like a steel Vauxhall crank, Mistsubishi conrods, Disc brakes instead of skinny drums, a 4 speed Muncie gearbox instead of a 'three on the tree' it should have had, a late model larger cllutch etc etc. And lets say it had been on a bit of a diet. Brock's first race car of note was actually an Austin A30. Albeit with a 6 cylinder Holden engine in it. His first car he built as a teenager to race round the paddock at home was an Austin 7 special Not my photos Last edited by E.B; Yesterday at 23:03. |

Post 87 (I checked) has had several good answers RBS 100%, in fact Morningents, EB, Chunterer, are doing pretty well.
Come on join in the fun, with some Formula 1 World Championship questions. 1 Who was the first American to win the F1 WC? 2 In which year did British drivers take the first six places in the WC, and who was the interloper? 3 British drivers won all of the rounds in ****? 4 In 1971 Peter Gethin won he Italian Grand Prix at a record speed, that lasted fro 21 years. Whose record did he break? 5 Which marque won the first Constructors Title? Goole knows he answers - probably. Last edited by bauble; Today at 00:14. |

All Alfas are not red. But I must admit that even painted in goose poop a Tubolare Zagato remains one of the best looking race car ever. IMO.
