His role as a development driver would prevent him from doing a full season in 2025, specially with others factory teams, so that is where the selected LMP2 races comes in.

Supposedly one of the Penske Porsche seat is opening up as well (according to a S365 snippet) - Cameron out?? - so we could see Derani fill that as another option.

Who knows But I think they're pretty sure Shank won't try that again, he knows how it ends already. Maybe they just want to try something new that they've never done before (running a car almost entirely themselves I mean).
