Le Mans 2010 auto-invites
The ACO has published the list of auto-invites for 2010 Here (French) and Here (English)
2009 24 HEURES DU MANS The first two in each category are automatically selected. LM P1 : PEUGEOT SPORT TOTAL (Peugeot 908 HDI-FAP) LM P1 : TEAM PEUGEOT TOTAL (Peugeot 908 HDI-FAP) LM P2 : TEAM ESSEX (Porsche RS Spyder) LM P2 : SPEEDY RACING SEBAH (Lola Judd) LM GT1 : CORVETTE RACING (Corvette C6-R) LM GT1 : LUC ALPHAND AVENTURES (Corvette C6-R) LM GT2 : RISI COMPETIZIONE (Ferrari F 430 GT) LM GT2 : BMS SCUDERIA ITALIA (Ferrari F 430 GT) 2009 PETIT LE MANS The winner of each category at the end of the race is automatically selected. However, there is no selection in LM P2 as the Dyson-Smith Lola B/09 Mazda that finished first had a wide 2008-type rear wing depriving it of an official selection. No entries in LM GT1 hence no selection. LM P1 : PEUGEOT SPORT TOTAL (Peugeot 908 HDI-FAP) LM GT2 : RISI COMPETIZIONE (Ferrari F 430 GT) 2009 AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES The winner of each category is automatically selected. Corvette, victorious in LM GT1, is not eligible as the make failed to meet the required number of participations because the C6.Rs raced in only two (Sebring, Long Beach) out of 10 events. LM P1 : PATRĂ“N HIGHCROFT RACING (Acura ARX-02a) LM P2 : LOWE’S FERNANDEZ RACING (Acura ARX-01b) LM GT2 : FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS (Porsche 911 GT3 RSR) 2009 LE MANS SERIES The first two in each category are automatically selected. Only one entrant has been selected in LM GT1 as the Larbre Competition Saleen did not race in the whole series. LM P1 : ASTON MARTIN RACING (Lola-Aston Martin B 09/60) LM P1 : PESCAROLO SPORT (Pescarolo-Judd) LM P2 : QUIFEL ASM TEAM (Ginetta-Zytek) LM P2 : SPEEDY RACING TEAM SEBAH (Lola Judd) LM GT1 : LUC ALPHAND AVENTURES (Corvette C6-R) LM GT2 : TEAM FELBERMAYER-PROTON (Porsche 911 GT3 RSR) LM GT2 : JMW MOTORSPORT (Ferrari F 430 GT) 2009 FIA-GT Championship The first two in each category are automatically selected. FIA GT1 : VITAPHONE RACING TEAM (Maserati MC 12) FIA GT1 : PEKA RACING (Corvette Z06) FIA GT2 : AF CORSE (Ferrari F 430 GT) FIA GT2 : PROSPEED COMPETITION (Porsche 911 GT3 RSR) 2009 MICHELIN GREEN X CHALLENGE The winner of the Challenge over the whole of the 2009 Le Mans Series is automatically selected. SpeedTV rightly points out that Lowe's Fernandez ran the full season with a 2008 wing and still got an automatic invite.
The Larbre Saleen snub is just flat out stupid. 4 races out of 5 isn't enough? |

No Audi then but the ACO has plenty of options to get competative teams in and perhaps keep some of the less desireable one away. Let us all hope that they make some good choices.

What is it that Larbre have done wrong? Snubbed at Le Mans and now this. Their exclusion, and the inclusion of certain others, is farcical.

Hmm, maybe the fact that they pulled out in 08, then did not subscribe to the LMS for the full season in 09. Then come out with the statement of running the full season after the list is completed and not fulfilling that, by missing Spa. As far as I can gather none of the full season entrants actually participated for the whole season, and LAA was the only team to actually make all the races for the LMS GT-1 class and are the points champion. Hence the only one to recieve an Auto invite for the LMS. Or did I miss something?

Prominent French team, competitive, part of the establishment. Are their crimes any more serious than those of others that appear to have been overlooked by the ACO? I'm just very surprised at how harshly they are being treated, especially in the current climate when the ACO should be falling over themselves to keep people on side. |

What crimes?
It seems to me they were not extended any special treatment. I only have the ALMS to draw from as the regs for LMS are not published, and by ALMS SSR Art. 4.1 (pg.#66) they would not qualify (team championship), as they were not a "full season entrant" (being set from the list published by the ACO/LMS). It seems that LAA was afforded some, I would assume that is/was because of their actually competing in every race (?). L.P. |

Let me tell you why I consider Larbre to be hard done by, whilst others racing machinery which is ineligible to race at Le Mans have been granted those coveted auto-invites: Larbre spent 2009 campaigning on two fronts - the defence of their FFSAGT crown and an assault on the Le Mans Series. When they started their LMS campaign, there was no stipulation from the ACO that a team must campaign the entire Le Mans Series in order to be eligible to receive one of the auto-invites awarded to the first and second placed finishers in each category. More importantly, when they missed the Spa round of the LMS due to a clash in the calendars of the two championships (and choosing to race in the FFSAGT over the LMS), there was still no such rule in place. It was not until the Nurburgring round in late August that the ACO suddenly announced that only full season Le Mans Series entrants would be eligible to receive auto-invites. So, despite finishing second in the GT1 category in the Le Mans Series, the team have been denied an auto-invite by a rule which the ACO introduced retrospectively. I cant understand this ruling ..... I was expecting Larbre on the grid . I wonder have they goit enough to make a case against the ACO ..... But then they will probably never get on the grid again .
Larbre was a regular since the early 90's , and to be treated like this is nothing short of a bloody shame . I just wish that the ACO could issue aset of rules and stick with them , because they make themselves look stupid as well as unfair by breaking them all the time . |

Yeah ..... I wonder exactly what the ACO think about that ?
But , I dont think their car will be legal next year , so I wonder what they will turn up with ? They should really have a chat with Hans Reiter and try and get their little mits on a new 2010 spec Lambo . |
