What games are you playing at the moment?
I think I've posted this before in the past, but it's a good topic, so I've decided to post again.
Basically, as the description reads...what games are you currently playing? I am currently concentrating on F1 2001 (PC), trying my best to stay on the track for more than a minute...it's one hard game. That's all actually, although I've been giving the Mercedes Benz truck racing demo a bit of a workout, and also the Dirt Track Racing Sprint Cars demo. Both are good games. |

GT3 (PS2), GTA3 (PS2), and Half Life (PS2). Speaking of the latter does anyone know how to finish of that massive alien 'gurack' or somthing like that. I've managed to get him into the third part (when its in the pit) but the damn thing won't die!! Please help...

Is Half-Life for PS2 a recommended purchase? I would get it but I can only afford a couple of games this term and my priorities are Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future (PS2) and of course Metal Gear Solid 2.

I bought Rally Trophy yesterday so that's the only game Im playing at the moment. So far I think it's a great game. The cars are a lot of fun to drive, and the graphics look great even on my average computer. The glare effect are fantastic.

I picked up Ridge Racer V the other day so its been taking up the PS2 slot. Strangely enough, I never thought I'd get a kick out of an arcade racer like that but it's got that 'flipping'eck! did you see that finish' quality which has been missing in racing games as of late.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero is another one that's been a nice change from the usual GT3 procession. Too many modifications in that game (TXRZ) that it gets a little ridiculous but it's sufficiently different from GT3 to be a worthy time waster. |

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 WWF Smackdown 2! Final Fantasy 8 and 9 (someone told me that 9 wasn't as good as 8, but i reckon its pretty damn good) NHL 98 (just for kicks, plus its fun) and i will probably TRY to finish of Final Fantasy 7's last disc |

Hey Benz, which bit of Final Fantasy 7 are you on? The last disc is basically just the final showdown with Sephiroth.
Final Fantasy 9 is miles beyond anything Final Fantasy 8 threw up - number 8 is a mess basically, and yet, in comparison to most games released, it's still pretty damn good. |

Today in the Electronics Boutique sales I picked up Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Vanishing Point for a tenner each, both for Dreamcast. TR5 is alright, the usual Tomb Raiding romp. Vanishing Point is an arcadey racer, very nicely presented but a little lacking. But then again, at a tenner, it ain't bad.

If you're in the crater Benz, you've got less than an hour to go. And you HAVE to finish it to see the ending!!! Anyway, have you completely completed it? ie. killed all Weapons, got all the Materia (including Master Materia), etc? I would recommend going and killing Sephiroth, watching the ending, and then having a go at getting EVERYTHING. It will truly absorb you for about another 6 months!!!
FF8... The first disc is okay, but then... I don't know, I think it's because it's so damned hard, unless you know the secret to doing well. (Which I now know, but can't be bothered to play through it again. I did start it, got past the Ifrit cave and stopped. Yawn.) Also, FF8 pales in comparison next to FF7, which is of course the finest gaming experience man has ever created. The style of FF8 just didn't feel right, and the random battles grew very very tiresome due to the Draw system, whereas in FF7 they could be neat and quick and were never annoying. Actually FF8 was more tedious than difficult.

For those who care (all of you, surely ), I am now playing The Sims, FIFA 2000, and F1 2001. The Sims is actually pretty good, I must admit.

Well, I just finished the Petit LeMans in that game... took me all day.
Some may think me mad but I just started playing Ridge Racer V again. You can't beat a good arcade racer for sheer stupidity in racing. It's a good wee diversion though for the weekend. Actually picked up Spirit of Speed 1937 for the Dreamcast for a fiver today. No idea if it'll be up to much but at a fiver I can have a game which may be passable/laughable and as an alternative, a nicely decorated coaster for a pint glass. |

i just saved in the middle of the 100 minutes of the petit lemans. im using a audi r8c and its night fall. i usually go 20-22 laps per stint. my fastest time so far has been a 1.07.3 and ive not tried to beet it. just try to stay in a decent rythim. i dont think i can ether with the balnced gear box. i think the best setup is medium downforce and top speed gear box. low df was too inconsistent for me to use.
im tring to get the old jag. i really want the 905, but, to get that id have to do the full 24 hour race and this is only a rental. lol i cant even find it anymroe though. maybe ill check the best buy web site and get it there. i wish i could use my wheel |
