G-R should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
In a little change to the 'best game ever' topics, I've decided to let you say your 3 fav games ever. Here are mine(no particular order): F197(playing for two years), GT(you know the story) and Metal Gear Solid(Great story line, to go with the great game play)

And now, your turn...........

I guess it's likely the N64 that holds my favourite games...

1) F1 World Grand Prix - 10 out of 10! AMAZING GAME!
2) 007 James Bond Goldeneye
3) Top Gear Rally - Kept me occupied for many days winning all of the cars and tracks.

For PC:

1. Grand Prix 2 (and waiting for GP3)

2. Grand Prix Legends (difficult but realistic)

3. Sports Car GT (career mode)

Gerard.

oh man! You shouldn't start this topic, beware the Minardi fan - "dat fool'll go crazee!"
Is the 3 best games that different from best games ever?
Do they have to be driving games? Clearly not.
No1-Dreamweb (bleak Amiga futureRPG)
No2-Final Fantasy VII
No3-Gran Turismo the unrivaled racer. On PS I should add, poor PC. 3rd could also be MGS, Bushido Blade or Soul Calibur. Hmm....
I did warn you about Minardi fan. Ok?

F1FansClub should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi,

My top three are racing games because I just really buy them! I have had Metal Gear Solid and that would be near the top but since this is a motorsport forum:-

1.Toca 2 - You have to put this up at top! The best racing game ever!

2.GT - Although this is a quality game I think it still comes second on my list!

3.F1'99 + F1'97 - Both good F1 games with equal graphics and gameplay!

The cheek of the Tourist....

But he did warn you!

Racing games:

1: F1'97 (PSX)
2: MarioKart (Snes)
3: Gran Turismo (PSX)

As for any game....

1: Final Fantasy VII (PSX) - an absolute
masterpiece.
2: The Settlers (Amiga)
3: F1'97 (PSX)
4: MarioKart (Snes)
5: Metal Gear Solid (PSX)

I have not been allowed to include Music on PSX thanx to the Tourist, but if I could, I'd slot it in at no.2

Wow, Minardifan - you put MGS in your list. Congratulations. In my opinion, MGS is the very closest you can get to perfection of an ideal. It has no real flaws. It suppases FFVII by miles in that department, for FF is still an RPG. They both come close to being the most involved game experiences ever. Also, MGS tries to educate - anti nuclear war message (whilst shooting people and breaking their necks....) I have never been immersed in a game as much as MGS or FFVII. They are what makes gaming great - this is what gaming is supposed to do. That is why MGS is as close to literally perfect as humanly possible. (NOTE TO PASTE: the N64 is and always will be the worst platform in history. Nintendo are spurious rubbish. Not worth the position of adulation and respect they clearly have. N64 should die. Oh look, it is already...)
Oh, MinardiFan - Music isn't a GAME game. Hahah!!! See if the N-bad-graphics-pathetic-upgrade-expensive-64 could do that!!!

for whatever it's worth:

1: Mechwarrior III, for the entire storyline

2: Aliens vs. Predator, scared me so when played as marine, I even stopped walking and hid in dark corners for a great part of the time, the shock when some bleeb appeared on the movement-sensor flung the mouse agaist the wall, several times.

3: DOOM II, legendary, I still play it, it revolutionized my life and that's no exaggeration

Nathan, you have exceptional taste. What can I say - FFVII IS the best game ever, MGS is wondrous, and Civ 2 is bloomin' good too.

Toth, you have no taste.

No, no. He has an opinion. I wouldn't agree with his choice, but i can kind of see why he likes them.
People get insecure when faced with differing opinions.
In my opinion, games like Civ 2 are a little "sad". I'd rather take a spin around a decent FPS than sit at Civ for hours. (in my opinion [wow, that "word" again...] I can't stand Doom anymore. Aliens V Predator would probably be my choice).

Dude I noticed the smiley-face but I'm bored so I'll illuminate my choice a bit for y'all.

All I can say about Mech is that I'm into the story and as all trueborn I shall defend the legacy of Kerensky against anything. Even if "they" were to put out a really bad mech-game I'd put it on one (whilst demolishing "their HQ" in my Strider).

Aliens vs. Pred. just got me more involved in the game then any game ever. Enemies are few and come unexpected and I play FP-shooters as reality-like as possible. I could run around and finish most levels within minutes, not shooting my enymies but just sprinting for the exit and beat the game and set a record. I don't like that, I want to be thrilled and playing AvsP in a dark room way after midnight with the soundblaster producing footsteplike sounds behind me (or is it just my echo or imagination) is thrilling. A typical AvsP level takes me well over 2 hours.

Doom was kinda a joke cos there's games around now that I like more but nostalgia convinced me, I remember friends asking me to come to the pool on a hot summer-day when I was 15/16, but I just couldn't I had to find out what that circle-strafing-thing was, I heard it was the only way to beat Cyberdeamons (untrue btw). I played the game day and night that summer cos it was the only thing I had besides Keen and duke 1&2 (wich were pathetic if compared to doom) and the girls in the pool-erea, well, weren't all that.

Looking back on my choices I find that the 2 FP-shooters may give the impression that I'm a kind of a bloodthirsty, agressive, nanny-bullying type. But I like loads of other games too, of almost all genres, up to the peacefull text-adventures like Larry (great game), these are just the ones I like a bit more. BTW I heard that MGS is a bit like Mech 3 (this may be sooo untrue) but I didn't get the game cos I don't know the story etc, I may like that game in that case so I guess I have some taste.

Naaaah!

Best three:

1)Sega Rally for Saturn (if you can get the Stratos around Lakeside with a good time, you can drive anything)
2)Touring Car Championship, also Saturn
3)Manx TT, Saturn

Er, a bit late but here goes:

1. - SegaRally 2
2. - F355 Simulator, coz it's so damn hard.
3. - GT cos GT2 aint as good or original.

And for those who don't need to sleep, or work or eat or go to the toilet: Diablo.

IMHO

Grand Prix Legends is awesome and those of you with playstations etc, should try and have a go on a PC with this game.

It takes a good month to get the hang of it and you strat to reallise what Gods the likes of Hill, Stewart, Clark, Hawthorn, etc, etc all were!

I also bought TOCA Touring cars and am peed off with the lack of damping or the oversensitivity of the controls making it an arcade game. The playstation version is better.

I bought 'The Official' F1 which is very good, so that I could learn Spa before racing there! It worked, but it cgav eno impression of the real Eau Rouge!

I have just got The Sims by Maxis and I have to say it knocks all other games from the top three and fills all three spaces.
