Supersports at Assen
Just saw the footage on Eurosport - that guy who went into the gravel after his engine blew in the biggest way possible was very lucky not to be decapitated by the next bike in.... hope they are all right - he landed heavily on his neck. Very worrying.

I was at the track and was seated in that turn. It all looked awful but the last reports that I heard at the track and when arriving home was that that Kellner (the guy that blew his engine and started everything) was transported to hospital with suspected neck injuries, but there were none. The bikes all missed him by just a few centimeters.
The only one that was really injured was a medic that was taking care of Kellner, the guy is hit when the last bikes fly in, just after you see many people run away. He has a complicated leg fracture. It all looked worrying and with 4 ambulances at the track, many people running and not knowing what the condition of the guys were it was. Weird thing was that on the right side of my place they were working on these guys and more to the left they were having the podium celebration. |

Horrible, horrible accident, but thankfully it appears all the riders got away relatively unscathed, and the marshal ONLY has a broken leg, because frankly, the way those last bikes went into the barrier, they were lucky not to be killed.
