TOCA v TOCA 2
Which is the best the original TOCA touring cars or TOCA 2?
I find the track layouts seem to be closer to the real thing on the original game. (though the Abbey hairpin takes the wrong line on the exit) TOCA 2 has better interaction with all the different variables and the support races but the cars seem harder to control. |

I think that TOCA 2 is the better game. The AI is much better in 2.

Toca 2 is miles better than Toca 1. The handling on Toca 2 is just perfect. On the first one the handling was awful, you could fly of the road sooo easily, it's frustrating.
Also the tank and Cadallac are crappy. The test track on Toca 2 is great. |

TOCA 2 is better but not by that much I don't think. Find getting the entry to Thruxton chicane v hard. The computer cars are so much quicker through there. If I try to keep up the thing just snaps sideways into a spin. Any tips? Also the circuits you can unlock and the test treack on TOCA 2 are excellent.

Much preferred TOCA 1 on the PC. TOCA 2 has the worst network code I've ever seen on a racing sim.

I like both. I love how in TOCA 1 going down the Craners at Donny the left side of the car lifts off the ground But I do agree that for some of the tracks on TOCA 1 the actual track is better than TOCA 2. But, TOCA 2's AI, graphics, and sound, not to mention bonus cars as well as physics are soo much better.

i had both on playstation ( thanx f**khead hwo nicked them) and T1 was better in the grafix of the other cars but T2 was better in grafix of the player car and damage and it was easier wich i didnt like. T3 was just shockn, good tracks but fake teams and fake championships and there wasnt a real hard edge to it and u could save just about any slide

i didnt like the way the barriers were in t2. there was no run off. t1 had more realistic tracks. but in t2 you would hit someone in the side on purpose and you would spin out! not on t1, they would spin at least 3 times!

Once i got used to the handling on TOCA 2, i realised that i could no longer drive TOCA 1, it was to edgy. So i far prefer TOCA 2, more tracks, better graphics, better play. But then agian, both were way too easy.

Is there some kind of mod for TOCA then? Lister Storm? Since when was that a Touring Car? (A bit like people who think a BMW M3 is a sports car ) |

As far as the whole games goes, Toca 2 had to be better as it included Fiestas, FFord etc. Concerning the touring car element, I did prefer the handling of the original, even if the computer cars seemed a little too easy to knock of the circuit. I mean, one accidental scuff at the start of a straight sends them outbraking themselves at the end! D'oh!

No those support cars were crud. The best extra cars ever was the tank in TOCA 1 Type in CMGARAGE(i think) at the player name screen to get it. The other one is "Me Lady's" Caddy in Thunderbirds. |

In T3 the only real Aussie track was Surfers Paradise. Bathurst's corners were all the wrong height

in TOCA2 (on PC anyway) type CARTASTIC as your name, and you get access to all cars

It's different on the Playstation woody. I completed the game ages ago. I did the entire championship on Expert, manual shifting, in a Peugeot 406, and won every race. Boring.

The T1 demo was my first thing I played on my PSX, back in Xmas 1997.... Great then and still good now.
T2 is a different beast. It hooked gamers who didn't have a clue what touring cars were about. The Alpine track was excellent and had all the parts which made the Primera the best car for it, like the downhill braking zone followed by the right-left hairpin/chicane. |

I thought the Toca 1 track layouts were better, for example on Toca 2, when has there been tryres down the inside of Paddock Hill Bend, Graham Hill Bend, Surtees and also no way is the bump under the bridge at Donington by the old hairpin that big!!!!!!

What about STCC and STCC 2? Some say that STCC 2 is better than T2. But then STCC2 came after T2.
