A question on the VX
Please pardon my ignorance, but under the Blueprint scheme of things, does the VX Commodore as it currently runs use the double A arm suspension on the TEGA pick up points or is it done on the "old" Commodore mounts.
Simiarly, for those running the AU, do they run their existing "TEGA components" with the Blueprint pick up points or how they have been for the last few seasons? |

I don't think the VT and AU have changed spec. They are staying as they were until they are phased out and everyone switches to Blueprint cars.
The VX cars can be upgraded to Blueprint spec VYs but apparantly it is impossible to upgrade the AU to a BA. |

Not impossible Buckshot, look a the SBR Caltex BA showcar which was formerly an AU, CAMSVESCO wont let you do it and maintain your Supercar logbook.....

But it's not like they went and changed the floor pan or anything on the show car... and I can tell you, you can't actually turn the wheels on the show car because of a total lack of space between the tyres and the rim.

I would think it's against the rules to make a VX or AU run Blueprint components because they weren't homologated with those components on it, while the VY and BA were.

Crash? Space between the tyres and the rim? I guess you mean the guard?

The speed of the VX is well known, but my curiosity is because of the speed of CPR and TB VXs if they were indeed running to Blueprint specs. By all of this can we say that the VX is not running double A arm suspension then? Please help me!!!!!!!!

Fortunately there was little room between the tyre and the rim... |

To change the au to a ba you have to tub the rear end and change the tunnel it's a big job and not really worth doing.
I beleave the nz cars will be made to do it that way in 2004 |

The AU is tubbed anyway. But really the BA uses a completely different front and rear rail that is fitted in a new position to allow for the new pick up points.

the VX's & AU's are the same as last year, it is only either a converted VX to VY spec or a new VY that are allowed to run the new suspension & only the BA & VX that run the 'common' mounting points

Thanks. Rocket, sorry but didyou mean BA and VY that run the common (TEGA) pickup points? I'm sure that'w what you meant.
Too many grey areas in the transition from model to model for my liking. What does does everyone else think? Hybrid city, if you ask me. |

No wonder about Bright's qualifying speed or the consistency of Richard's CPR VX then. Not a level playing field yet.
