Humble Pye and Don Truman

So having had my attention grabbed by the headline "Don Truman would have banged their heads together" I thought I'd read on.

Marcus, as always hit the nail on the head - can't you tell he used to be a marshal?

Talking about the terrible driving standards in Vee on Sunday - in particular the second heat-stopping incident.

I believe there's a lack of follow up on incidents by officals; I guess its just too much paperwork? A few more endorsements handed out might prompt drivers to think about their driving standards? (The only people I know who've been endorsed recently are "gentlemanly" drivers who got done for alledgely jumping the start, being slightly underweight, missing chicanes, etc. I guess this is more clear cut, but less far important, than driving infridgements).

Well if I could ever get to that desireable state, I'd accept an endorsement and three points gladly.

Not much chance though possibly partly because of

There are one or two ex drivers within 750 as reported by Marcus that have their membership withdrawn thus meaning they can no longer compete at our events. So action is taken with as put in Autosport rock-apes. It may not seem as though action is taken on the day but all incidents are logged against the drivers, so like the totting up points for drivers on the road, if you were to continue getting involved in incidents you would reach the state of the aformentioned.

The stock hatch driver one of those whose membership was withdraw, could not understand why we said he should calm down, and could not see that his car no was in all the incidents on one day

Not sure I agree (although maybe you are specifically talking about 750MC) - if you don't get an endorsement on your licence, and the CoC isn't the same at the next meeting (as is often the case in a national series), the next CoC knows nothing about it. In fact I'd say, isn't interested - the drivers reps from our series went to the CoC to ask him to keep a specific eye on and have a word with a group of drivers who had had "previous" at the preceeding 'round. We were just told to go away! (This is a one off; most CoC's would at least say they would keep an eye).

Sorry Graeme i am talking 750 Motor Club where
two of the three clerks would have been at a previous meeting, we use the same clerks as no 1
clerk at most meetings. I believe you are refering to B.A.R.C. whose clerks are not always the same, and i take your point. We also have have
drivers reps for our championships, and we do take notice of their comments.

Regards,
Pete

Whilst I will not comment, in an open forum, on the incident last Sunday that started this thread, I can assure everyone that the driving standards of several drivers have been recorded and those concerned are aware of that!
Always remember that most judicial action requires evidence, in the form of observers reports.

Championship Co-ordinators can be useful in providing info to Clerks regarding driving standards of drivers during a season, but it does rely on good Observer's report being submitted.
