Andy Roberts in Barber Dodge

Our very own Andy Roberts has sent me an account of his experience in the Barber Dodge test he mentioned to us, complete with photos. If you want to check it out, go to www.rfmsports.com -- or you can wait for the weekend newsletter but you won't get the photos there!

Seems Andy's one of those people who rather than just wanting to pursue a dream, feels the need to slag off his own country too.

Here:

"I'm used to running... at a rainy Snetterton"

And:

"This was a nice touch, especially as it wasn't coming out of my lap allowance for the day and is something you wouldn't get back in the UK"

Cricky! If your taking the rainy Snetterton comment as slagging of my country then you have some serious issues there! I'm sure if you had the chance to drive in Sunny Florida and your last race was in the freezing rain at Snetterton, I'd hate to think you would make the same light hearted analagy. After all life is too serious for that isn't it.

And the lap allowance comment. How much racing have you done kicking back? I have done quite a bit in the UK and have tested for a number of teams. On 3 occasions now I've turned up for a day of series testing only to find the team wanted to use the test to run a new motor/gearbox in. I spend half a day doing this when I have actually paid to test a car so I'm sure you'd be peaved to. If you are going to buy a car and the dealer takes you out in it and on the way takes you all the way through 20mph limit roads........how would you fell?

If this is all you meant by slagging my country off then may I suggest you just have a beer, "kick back" and relax mate. You've got totally the wrong end of the stick here.

For everyone else, glad you enjoyed the article!

Is this a joke? I mean, good gravy, don't you think you're being a bit overly sensitive?!?! Article was an interesting read. Thanks Andy!

I'm sure it never happened to Kicking (or anyone else). Being answered by the driver himself!

(Actually, since Andy is a member, it could be an attack on a poster. But I'm not a mod, you're safe Kicking )

Having been to Snetterton for a night race in July and huddled for hours in the freezing rain, I laughed at the comment about "rainy Snetterton" -- oh I can laugh NOW ... and I suppose the revelation that a weekend of racing had to be cancelled at Mosport due to snow in May would be "slagging off Canada." Weather reports are part of the atmosphere of a piece, aren't they?
