fast95pony should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Goodwood festival of Speed info..

I'm thinking about visiting in 2005. There's no pricing info available yet. Could anyone give me an appoximate price. It looks quite fancy,so I guessing I might have to break the piggy bank..
Any advice on the best viewing area ?? I'll probably be staying in Southampton. Can I get a train from there , or would a rental car be better ??

Thanks
Alan

You should be able to get a train from Southampton to Chichester.A bus runs every half hour from the bus station across the street from rail station.
Last time I went in 2002 addmission was £15 on Friday. Now you have to book in advance.

Alan,

It will be advanced ticket sales only and your best best is to go to their website www.goodwood.co.uk click on motorsport and then enquiries and write to ask about dates and prices etc. Hotels nearby will be snapped up extremely quickly so if you need one make sure you get your reservation done as soon as the dates are announced.

Stephen.

This year's prices for the Festival were
Friday £15 + grandstand £10
Saturday £30 + £20
Sunday £40 + £27
Weekend £70 + £47
Plus £10 for a programme (which I think is a rip-off)

If your budget will run to it, I recommend hiring a car purely for the convenience and independence. parking is free and it's not too far to walk from the carpark to the venue.

I can't really recommend a particular place to watch. I roamed around and spent as much time in the paddocks, the exhibition area, and the trade stands as I did watching activity on the hill.

You may have read of the 'dress code'. That only applies to the Revival race meeting not to the festival and is optional anyway.

I hope you can make it - you'll not regret it!
