Paul Weel running 3 cars?

the other day I was reading V8x I think it was and there was a comment that Paul Weel will run 3 cars in 2007 but where will the licence come from...here is a bit of off topic shuffling:

2005 concerning structure (Original number):
#24 (#24) - Paul Dumbrell - Perkins Engineering
#11 (#43) - Steve Richards - Perkins Engineering
#50 (#54?) - Paul Weel - Paul Weel Racing
#51 (#16) - Greg Murphy - Paul Weel Racing

2006 concerning structure (Original number):
#7 (#24) - Steve Richards - Perkins Engineering
#11 (#43) - Paul Dumbrell - Perkins Engineering
#50 (#54?) - Cam McConville - Paul Weel Racing
#51 (#16) - Greg Murphy - Paul Weel Racing

2007 rumored structure (Original number):
#7 (#10) - Shane Price - Perkins Engineering
#11 (#20) - Jack Perkins - Perkins Engineering
#50 (#54?) - Cam McConville - Paul Weel Racing
#51?/#23? (#16) - Paul Dumbrell - Paul Weel Racing
#43? (#11/#43) - Nathan Pretty? - Paul Weel Racng

What do u think?

You're getting a bit confusing with all your numbers there...

I think PWR have the John Faulkner Level 1's. (not sure where you are getting #54 from...that was Rod Nash's which is running the Autobarn #55 car)

Larry Retains the #11 franchise previously used and now has an ex-Larkham level 1...is that right? anyone? The franchise leased for #7 has gone to Garth Walden.

Perkins owns both his licences now, so I don't see how the #11,#43 licence would go back to PWR.

I don't know where the 3rd car licence would come from, but remember it said the team was looking at running 3 cars in 2007, and seeing the magazine was probably put to print before the Walden announcement that could have been the 3rd licence they were looking at.

Wouldn;t Larry have traded in his L2 to get both the LMS L1 slots?

I thought it may have been the #54 licence from Team Brock in 2002

Larry didn't own that L2, he was only leasing it from the Romanos.

Lazza bought the licence that Paul Weel used up until 2004 with David Krause driving one of the old yellow VX's......that was when WPS Racing bought Larry's licence and #8

the franchise LP got from the weels (#43) was all worked in with the engine deal, LP now has the LMS L1, so where the #43 franchise goes i don't know maybe back to the weels so they can run the 3rd car.

I would have thought that #43 would have gone back to AVESCO as part of the deal to secure the #10/20 LMS L1 slots. AVESCO would surely not want any slots lying around loose for any old team to pick up and create a dodgy entry. Wasn't that, as well as a desire to reduce the grid, why they were buying back franchises in the first instance?

Perkins only bought one level 1 license, meaning he will be running one level 1 license and one level 2 license in 2007. TEGA still own the second ex-Larkham level 1 license.

The only available license PWR could use for a third car is the Romano license that Walden is looking at running.

From my source they are definately not running 3 cars next year only the 2. They are working at a fast pace to get the cars ready for Clipsal.

So I repeat PWR are NOT RUNNING 3 cars in 07.

Some people are still a few years behind. The L1's have been split into separate entities for that long.

Correct. Nash sold his L2 to PCR, and bought both the Dynamik L1's and on-sold one to PMM. Cunning indeed

I have heard his business acumen is well respected by the Wanless family, who know how to make a buck & have excelled in many forms of motorsport (boxing & polo amongst other sporting pursuits) since the 60s that I can speak of.

Not correct.........Tony Longhurst 'accquired' the two level 1 Team Dynamik licences.........And on-sold one to Paul Morris Motorsport and then sold Longhurst Racing, complete with L1 licence, to Rod Nash

Rod Nash Racing has been using the latter licence.......... Which is the subject of an impending court case, bought against both Tony Lonhurst and Rod Nash, by Team Dynamik, to be heard in the Brisbane High Court, on the 5th of Febuary next............pending the outcome of that legal action, Rod Nash Racing may or may not own that licence.

Rod Nash has a house at Coolangatta that Tony Longhurst built they have been close friends for quite a few years .
Rod and Larry Perkins are not as close as they used to be You could call them the old Castrol Maffia as previous Castrol support has been the common denominator of their relationship.

Could be very interesting for Mr Nash should his case with Team Dynamik mean he loses access to the L1 franchise licence slot that Autobarn/IRCA/Mr Owen have been using....

... might make Mr Romano very popular all of a sudden and also allow Team Dynamik to get back into the main game

Larry Perkins, Rod Nash and Tony Longhurst -you could call them the 3 Castrol Musketeers for Castrol sponsorship and a certain Good looking lady employed by Castrol have been a very powerful force in V8 racing for a long time.
Rumour has it that Rod Nash now owns one of the swish holiday units that Tony the builder constructed on the Tweed Coast.
Kees Weel lives on the adjacent Gold Coast so perhaps some casual meetings were held to sort out a deal.
