A1GP

Which club organises the volunteering for the A1GP at Brands?

MSV - if you're looking to volunteer, there's a volunteering form for this on Julian's site - www.marshals.org.uk in the MSVR Brands Hatch section.

Sign-on etc? I only know what's on the MSV form, but have to hope first the event isn't cancelled like the Brazilian round just has been.....but, the reason given for that was to do with TV coverage so would hope that wouldn't be a problem in the UK.

If you want the info from the form will send it to you again if that's what you're after, or it's on Julian's site.

Had to feel sorry for the Marshals at the hair pin, they were given no where to hide from the nasty cars!

Good work all round from the Kiwis (mitzi dude and pals). It's good to see a major championship going somewhere new and finding marshals who know how to do the job properly. I felt really sorry for the guy who did the three point landing - two eyes and a nose! Trust he's OK.

Nothings been published yet apart from FPA. At Zandvoort we had the BMW 1 Championship + their version of the Silhouettes, standard chassis with Mondeo / Focus type bodies. I think they had 40+ cars, made for some fantastic racing.

I wouldn't expect more than 3 support series to race during the weekend, they tend to spread the timetable out to ensure any drivers giving us cause to work don't cause issues with the TV schedules. Its a bit like the F1 weekend but with reasonable gaps, and we get to visit the whole circuit rather than just Bernie's "safe zones"

last time a1 were there the schedule was packed, it was a great 3 days! i wonder if the ginetta's have been invited back after nearly giving jp a heart attack over his grass. they actually ran out of numbers and had a quing system to give driver warnings out!! they were entertaining though.

Did anybody else think that Watson was a bit over-critical of marshals responce to the Pakistan Car in Qually? Ok, it appeared that they had to come from all angles and that nobody seemed to be working the gravel trap that he landed in but I got the impression that Watson wanted them there within 20 seconds and after that He started giving out that the didn't throw a red!

Maybe it was just me though!

A1GP is a MSVR event so you need to volunteer to them via Mildred.

mildred@brscc.co.uk is the address to use.

Oh sorry, I mean't to say that his attitude seemed to change.

Perhaps an elbow in the ribs and he changed his tune! He went from what I thought was very critical to being SUPER nice!

the rescue marsahl that came to greif, I have done the same thing. tripping on the edge of the track next thing over you go. its quik its fast. the next day at our RSQ and FLAG breifing. he was givin hell.everyone was crackin up. the poor guy National tv. and world wide as well. as for getting to the car, the race directer inrace control says when to move.and the same when to put out a flag. I spent 6days track side. best time I have ever had. the rsq marshal is OK justembarrased. nohin a few beers couldnt fix after wards. all in all the end result for the weekend was a job well done. so guys next year any one thats on holiday down here get hold of me , who knows a job may be going.
