The word's again - no space in there. Anyway, I think he's got a good chance, althogh Newman-Haas might be the team to beat.

Maybe? If he's going to win the championship he pretty much has to win at RA.
Worth noting is that he's put in some great performances at RA in the past. Last edited by Snrub; 5 Aug 2004 at 19:26. |

Some drivers seem to be very well suited to the track. Bruno Junqueira has been outstanding there his entire career, Bourdais was solid last year, and Tagliani has always been fast there, with a couple of podium finsihes. I also would expect Justin Wilson to be fast there. His F1 experience certainly comes in handy on this type of track, I would suspect.
Last year's race was fun to watch, despite the rain delay, and I hope this year has as much drama and excitment. Tracy hit the wall - his first major mistake of the season. Manning was running solid all day until he lost a gear and Carpentier snuck by him coming down the front stretch on the last lap... I expect N-H to be on top... either one of 'em... or both. Road America is the N/Haas team's winningest track.
First practice sees Bourdais 1.4s ahead of Bruno, with PT in third. |

What's interesting about Macdaddy's point is that practice times are usually off the qualifying times. Juding by last year's results, the times are pretty representitive of a qualifying times, especially Bourdais'!

Whats the weather forecast for the race?
I wouldn't mind putting my finger on Justin Wilson if it rains. (Providing Paul Tracy doesn't shove him off the circuit!) Seb will win by a country mile in the dry. (Providing PT doesn't shove him off either!) |

A small shower would throw a spanner into the works!
Run a little wide at a corner, put a wheel on the grass and end up a passenger. PT did that a few years back here, subsequently ending upside down on the inside of turn 2. (Correct me if I'm wrong) |

All the frontrunners in the top ten excepting Wilson, Bourdais and Junqueira we have seen very early on the grid, so this time the gambling of some teams/drivers didn't work very well... and interesting: the NHR boys are often off the track... AJ quick, Vasser quick but lost his fastest time for causing a red... So we have some "real" and some "gambling" times.... and tomorrow? Perhaps we wil see a all american front row...!? What happened with Tag?

Tag wrecked in practice and his car wasn't ready in time for the Qualify session.

In a way, he did.
But the record books will never show it. That's not to take away from Tags' well-deserved win. |
