2017 WTCC News & Rumours
We're past the half year mark so I guess this thread can be opened
And what better way to open it than with the news that José-Maria Lopez will NOT be the 2017 WTCC Champion! http://www.touringcartimes.com/2016/...ula-e-in-2017/ |

Good news for the rest of the WTCC drivers. He embarrased more than one, including the most dominant driver until Pechito got a car just like his. Yvan might be celebrating right now.

Next season can be simply awesome in terms of championship battle. Still though, shame to see Lopez leave - first of all, because we want to have best drivers in WTCC, and second - I would like to see him behind the wheel of other machinery and see what he can do without the might of Citroen

I think that's also due to nature of the new cars. It's not only JM that's ahead of him, he also lost his superiority to other drivers.

Well the FIA have pretty much gifted him the title this year after looking like he could be beaten, so now we won't have that problem. Bets on who will be the champion in 17 start now

Muller could move to lada if tarquini retires or volvo considering that they will invest all their sport activities in wtcc. I wont miss lopez he got the best car in the previous year and he got big luck in this one!

Yvan has driven a privately funded car before after a manufacturer pulled out, partly thanks to Chilton's dad. A funded drive in a Citroen could still be a very competitive drive next season.

With Citroën gone Lada vs. Honda vs. Volvo could make an interesting championship.

At this ppint Its already too late to hope in new manufacturer.
The only thing we can hope is that all 5 Citroën will remain on the grid that volvo will increase its cars and that honda and in particular lada will give some cars to indipendent teams |

If Coronel is ditching his Chevrolet, and Filippi seduced by TCR, who da hell is taking a Chevrolet next year?

I love the way Tom is always on the lookout for a new car, he always manages to secure a good car for a good deal
