How good was the racing between Tander and Lowndes
Wasnt it good to see some good clean door to door racing between these two in the closing section of the race they never really looked like putting each other off.Good to see there are some good clean racers left out there it refired my interest in the sport again to full strenght again.

I agree, it was nail biting stuff. At any moment one of them could have slid of the track and it would have been perfectly innocent of "making a mistake" as such.It would have been very changing and challenging conditions to say the least. That sort of racing fans will always like to see.

Shows how good Lowndes is ... it makes me cry to see him battling around in those junkers in the dry.
BTW, lucky it wasnt Silly Tander BEHIND for that many laps or the "clean" racing may not have happened. |

I think both guys deserve credit for the way they drove lots of others fell off just trying to keep up let alone race each other.

The whole race was wet, so both of them did a great job to get as high as they did without incident, particularly with the two of them going at it over the closing stages of the race.... Or did Garth hide in the pits all day and enter the race with 10 laps to go ?? Cheers, Paul... |

What about Rickler, managed to get past the lot of them without any damage! Very good driving for a quickly maturing young lad. As for his comments at the GP, maybe he is learning

Excellent dice. A good clean show by both drivers.

Good call Doggo, i forgot to mention the drive Rick Kelly put in - It was a huge effort considering how young he is, after Bathurst i realised he is obviously talented, but he was exceptional yesterday...
Imagine how good he will be once his voice breaks !! Cheers, Paul... |

Was also very impressed with the mid-race dicing between Morris, Weel and Lowndes - lots of position swapping with barely a rubbed panel to show for it. Good to see that Morris in particular can keep his head together sometimes.

GT actually said he didn't know where Craig was because he couldn't see him. He was just trying to concentrate on going as quick as he could - I'd say by that comment he may enjoy watching the replay at home himself!

The Lowndes, Weel, Morris and Besnard dice earlier in the race was a cracker. And let me tell you, the telecast may have shown 60% of it. I reckon it went on non-stop for about 10 laps.
The Tander and Lowndes race was unbelievable, I was biting my nails watching it. Great driving from everyone - aside from Ellery, Luff, Skaife and Toddler I can't recall any incidents of bad or unskilful driving. |

I am one of the nutbags that stayed till the end, altho I did find warmth and dryness in various places thru the day.
There were a number of promotional hostesses who were getting drowned as the day went on, letting their skimpy attire move to complete see thru.... |

GTR, glad you kept dry and warm. What would this forum be without you.
Its a credit to all the fans who stayed all day in those terrible conditions. |

As many times as I watch the closing stages of this race the side by side slides never get boring, Tander and CL both showed the skills that make then drivers not bargers, keep up the good work GTR and BUY A NEW UMBRELLA. That black one hardly keeps your shoulder dry.
