Why not try Indy Car? Scared of being embarrassed perhaps whereas NASCAR seems to have a 2 or 3 year learning curve before you are considered shyte... Hope he goes well, i dont mind him

I think him and Patrick Carpentier need to give it up. They wont go nowhere in my opinion.

A bit harsh on Piquet, who is yet to complete a race!
The anticipation is that he will fail and I have to agree. However, it is rather early to give up by anyones standards! No track action for a little bit so, in the meantime, let us ask: what will all the NASCAR hardmen make of his greasy styled hair and inability to grow facial hair? |

he is after our women...
will be interesting to see how well he does in the trucks. people thinking that it will be easier than the Cup series are correct, but i have said it many times...there are about 20 teams/drivers that are the best "stocktruck" teams/drivers in the world. i think he'll have a 3 year learning curve to be good in the truck series. if nothing else, it brings a bit more world wide attention to nascar. good or bad? you decide. |

He can compensate by getting fat. That's the biggest benefit to being a Nascar driver... you can just let yourself go. See Fire's avatar above.

After reading Danicafan's post, I hope that Danica fails. Seriously, why does someone have to bash other drivers to make theirs look good? It's JR nation all over again.

Seems that a few people have an attitude of some sort towards Piquet Jnr - each entitled to there own opinion ofcourse... Be good if there was some positivity, tho in years to come NASCAR could be overtaken by Brazilian drivers - bit like the Indy Car Series...

I believe RCR gave Caca Bueno a shoot once at a test session.
They are coming... |

He will drive for Eddy Sharp Racing in ARCAR at Daytona.
This weekend Piquet makes his stock car race debut in the Free State 500 late model race in South-Africa. |

Hmm...either the ARCA thing is because RHR could not put together a deal for him, or maybe this is Approval for Daytona in Trucks.

Is the South African race on an oval or road course?

Oval. The pit road is part of the Moto GP course.

"Due to the close proximity of the next race in my USA programme for 2010, the details of which have just recently become firmed up, and the logistics involved in getting back from the race in South Africa, I have unfortunately had to withdraw from the event," Piquet explained.
Thought they would've known this before they entered, tho, saying that, was he always going to do the ARCA race? |
