Imola is still the most beautiful circuit
It may not be the racing venue it once was but it makes up for some of that with its setting. And the second half of the track is great - form Tosa to Rivazza it's classic corner after classic corner.
If the first part became two linked straights - from Rivazza to an s-bend inside the current Tamburello, then a fast left hander roughly where Tamburello is, followed by a Villeneuve straight to Tosa, it would be the best track out there. Space and money, space and money. |

What do we want though? A beautiful setting or a track that is conducive to racing?
I agree though, Imola is stupendously pretty in Spring! |

How are all you F1 fans doing? I usually stick to sportscars but the F1 machines are so amazing to behold(even on T.V.).
Anyway, I've been worried about F1's future racetracks. Are they going to keep building these boring tracks like Malaysia and Bahrain? Thanks |

Pretty much. I do like Sepang and Bahrain - they're a lot better than the new tracks of a few years ago - but I wish they and other new ones weren't built along such similiar lines.

a bit of hilly terrain to work on might add a bit of interest and challenge to a setup, instead of the usual flat straight followed by a chicane (ala Tilke)

Agreed, the inclnes and descents appeal very much to me. On TV they may appear deceptive one way or the other, but the setting is pretty. I've always thought that the most picturesque and pretty circuits and the ones with the most "European" flavour and character are Imola, Monza and Spa. They are my favourite circuits along with Monaco, and no matter how staid the procession, I'll watch for the sight of F1 on the classic ballsy circuits.

The natural beauty of the Imola circuit is remarkable, undoubtedly among the ebst in the wrold. That, coupled with being fun to drive a single lap around and exciting to watch from onboards, almost make up for the lack of passing. Bahrain and Sepang both have reasonably good layouts and have to be considered as the ebst new tracks since Suzuka.
