Cristiano was hanging around the NHR pits at one other recent event, and Haas mentioned that they are discussing possibilities. Christian Fittipaldi was also speaking to Haas, but was told that nothing is available for him at this time.
da Matta, Bourdais and Junqueira sure would make for a formidable lineup! |

I hope this happens...a three way Newman-Haas championship battle next year? (With Tracy, Allmendinger and Wilson in the mix too, for good measure?) That's the stuff dreams are made of! |

It's around 40F this morning in Mexico City. That's around 4C for us Canadians. This afternoon it will go up to 66F or 18-19C. They better find some tire warmers or there's gonna be alot of ChampCars spinning today.

Hi. Listen I was just looking at the times etc. and am I not correct in saying that the cars are a lot faster this year?. 2003 PT 1.28.842 or 112.893 mph. Sebas 1.27.011 or 115.26 mph. Why is no one saying anything about this? You have to go all the way to p12 tarso before you find someone on the same time as last years pole. Do these new tires make that much diff? or are the new teams better this year? what gives?

Thanks to 'Don Sklenka' from Champweb. Latest rumours coming out of Mexico City:
No CNBC 11-06 Contrary to rumors running around the Internet, Champ Car will not be broadcast on USA Network and/or CNBC next year. The full TV deal should be announced within a week. Wirdheim Testing...Not Signed 11-06 Contrary to recent reports, Bjorn Wirdheim has not been signed by PKV Racing as of yesterday. However, Bjorn is going to be testing with the team within the next couple of weeks with hopes of landing a ride. Three More Races? 11-06 The buzz surrounding the 2005 schedule seems to be that Laguna Seca will be back on the schedule in that Sept. 11 date. Buenos Aires is expected to be added between Monterrey and Long Beach, and another American round is expected to be added in the spring. Stay tuned... Carpentier Staying? 11-06 Patrick Carpentier reportedly was going to sign with Cheever Racing in the IRL, but Cheever did not get Toyota's backing which means did not get Carpentier. Carpentier was then negotiating with Mo Nunn Racing, but that deal has reportedly fell through. Patrick is still in talks with Gerry Forsythe with continuing a 3-car operation, but 1-2 million dollars needs to be found in order to make that work. Cosworth Purchased 11-06 Rumor comign out of Mexico City is that OWRS has outbid Tony George and Chip Ganassi in purchasing Cosworth. We do not know if this is just the US based operation or what exactly, but very good news. |
