Yeah I heard that Prost was thinking of entering the FIA GT championship a while back also, I think with a pair of Pagaini Zonda's. The Villueneve rumor has been going around for a while now too, but as of yet theres not been any links with any team in particular as far as Im aware, would be intresting to see him racing for Care Racing in a Ferrari 550, potentially alongside Tomas Enge and Colin Mcrae, Mcrae has recently said that he is in negotiations with Care Racing for a ride in the LM 24hrs this year.

What i've hear about Prost was from AutoHebdo and it said something about driving a Ferrari in FIA GT, can't remember if it was a 575 or a 550

Alain Prost killed himself the rumour on french telly two weeks ago. He focuses on ice races for now...
Maybe later... but how serious are comment on the telly ? |

I can remember Prost making death threats against Senna on French television and then later saying he was "misquoted" --
I'd love to see him in sports cars because my ambition in life still includes meeting him some day. If it continues to be -30 here in Canada, he may come here to do ice racing next summer though, instead of going to Le Mans. |

Prost would make a brilliant endurance driver, it's a shame he supposedly doesnt want to do it. Villeneuve would certainly do well as we've discussed in this forum before

2 other 'star' names to add to the equation are McNish and Justin Wilson.
Both out of F1 and McNish at least is in negotiations to return to sportscars. |

It is an interesting though and I for one would love to see Prost venture into sportscars, whether as a driver, or entrant.
I somehow feel that although most of the primadonna F1 drivers pooh-ppoh te idea of racing at Le Mans once they've made it to F1 and while their star is still in the ascendancy, so many sem to start thinking that they need a Le Mans win (or even just a start) on their cv before they finally quit racing. |

I thought Prost was linked to a return to sportscar racing by ORECA, for whom he races in the Trophee Andros?

As I believe I have posted before, I know for a fact (from a friend I spoke to that knows JV) he was indeed in talks with Audi in December, but the ride went to Werner.
JV is NOT a team player, I can't see him driving with a team mate. Just my 2 cents. |

Exactly, I can't believe he would be a driver in a team of three at Le Mans. Mags is right, he isn't a team player.

Well if he was talking to Audi and Werner got the ride, that means the ride in question was Champion. And he couldn't even get the enduro seat. So either Audi and Champion agree that he is no team player, or he wanted lots of $$$$.

I cant understand him still needing the money. Surely even the best drive at LeMans would bring in a fraction of the money he earned for one F1 race.
If he truly want to add LeMans to his CV as he has stated in the past then he should take the best 'drive' he can get whatever the money. Just as he did in F1!!! I just wish he was more like his dad, who would have driven the wheels of anything |

Or his Uncle Jacque, not in terms of speed, but he did venture onto the Sarthe circuit at least once in a sauber.
I think he would do well, as for not being a team player I think he would be, you don't win in anything if your not, and lets not forget he has won both the F1 champ and CART, he seems very open and would speak his mind, not a bad thing in a team if what he says is true. I Think the spark has gone from him in recent years, but when faced with the shambles that was BAR I think alot would. A bit like MaCrae on the Paris-Dakar he would rise to a new challange abd thrive in the sportscar enviroment. |
