The track is 2.1 miles looks like a few fast corners.I am not sure but i don't belive i heard anybody has put any laps down.I was bitten by the racing bug just about 1 year ago(f1/cart/irl)seen every race in all those series.P.S.This has felt like the longest winter of my life.

Reminds me of Monza, actually - good looking layout. When I go I'll get seats at Turn 7, looks like a good place for photos.

Jimmy Vasser, Michel Jourdain Jr. and one other guy who is not currently a Champ Car pilot have laid down laps and professed themselves satisfied with the track, but what else would they say? Won't be long now!

Well it's a pretty picture, but I am not sure how the drivers will feel about it.

It doesn't appear to have any terribly interesting corners that might be considered unique.

There might be passing opportunities in turns 1 and 19, but even there, it looks like it might be difficult.

however, as Liz mentioned, it does look like a good spectators track with plenty of kinks for the drivers to negotiate near stands.

A lot depends on how wide it is.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

According to Jimmy Vasser, the track is "very smooth and very wide, sweeping and flat", and have "some potentially good passing zones." Vasser also says that the best passing zones will be turns 5, 9 and 11, while turn 1 is not a good passing zone.

Jourdain jr. called it "sensational" and "technical, with both fast corners and slow corners," while Mario Dominguez, the third driver, said: "It is a very technical and fast track with good overtaking areas."

I read this at cart.com. To me, it looks like the track is located at a very beautiful scenery, and, judging from the drivers' descriptions of it, the Champ Car series will - as always - produce a stunning race.

I'd guess that there'll be quite a lot of passing on the long start-finish straight. Turn 5 I think is also a passing possibility. Maybe turns 9 and 12?

Only having seen a picture though it's hard to tell where the opportunities will be.

oops..... I have to admit I was looking at the circuit backwards when I said turns 1 and 19 might give good passing opportunities. And I was looking at the grandstand numbers rather than the corner number.

Looking at it the right way, (5?), 11 and 9 look to be the opportunities.

The top halve of the track looks good, never received the bottm part. They will be running anti clock wise, similar to the ovals. Most other street style circuits go clockwise I think. Any body know anything about that?

It looks good, and I agree with most of you in the passing zones, I think turns 5, 9, and 11 are the best overtaking oportunities for drivers. They did a great job on the track, we have to give some credit to the brains behind this grand prix.

Why is it that the brains behind CART not only understand a whole lot more than their dittos in F1 about what can and what can not pass for being "motor racing", but also are capable of producing tracks that are far more varied and interesting than most F1 tracks? (I'm talking road tracks here.)

Arrrrggghhhhh - I'm not getting over that Hockenheim thing.
