Off topic - What do you drive?
Forgive me for going off topic... Lets lighten things up, given that we've had some heated F1 debate in some of the threads. I'm curious to see what the regulars around here drive. Does Dino drive a Dino? Does LucaBadoer drive a FIAT? What could AGGY possibly drive? A Harley? Let's find out.
I'll start. I've got a 2000 VW Jetta Vr6 (or for you Euro types that's a Bora with a 6 cylinder). Its fun to drive, but boy does it guzzle the gas in town! PS I hope this hasn't been done before. |

This will get moved to the road car forum, but I hope it doesn't.
I currently drive a red 1982 Ford Laser GL. I'm in my second year of uni, so the budget didn't stretch too far. The plan is to buy a cheap ****box that will last for ages, while saving up for a Peugeot 206GTi or Renault Clio Sport. |

Ive been leasing a 98' BMW M3. Its an awesome drive, but you have to be a car enthusiast. My wife cant stand it, which is fine with me and maintenance is a bit steep ($2000 for new tyres). Look out for the 01' version. Ive heard the paddle shift (not really paddles but buttons) will be nearly as quick as changing gears as a modern f1 car.

Not only does this belong in the Road Car forum, it already exists in the road car forum.
BTW, Subaru WRX (or Imprezza Turbo in other countries) |

I don't drive, but my mum drives a volvo and my dad drives a Mercedes C180 with very uncomfortable seats (if you're lanky) and messed up air conditioning. At least the handling has improved since the last one, apparently.

1996 Peugeot 205 GRi. Very economical though not quite a high performance vehicle. But it suits my student budget just fine.

LOL, David
Sorry to dissapoint you, Inigo, I don't have a Dino. Though driven one a few times as my best friend's dad has a vintage restoration company of the upper class. The 246 GT is a really awesome car that's for sure. For myself I have started off with a VW Scirocco GT which was scrapyard worthy but still lovely untill it fell apart, resulting in a 360 spin at 100 mph. Good fun right till the end. After that from work Alfa 155's in all the 4 cylinder flavours they came in. They're about the best steering front wheel drives in the business and make serious good fun. Back to school a Subaru Justy 1.2 was affordable, managed over 100 mph and was pretty convincing against any other car, when treated right. Although the gas efficiency was much cheered about I couldn't get it any better than 11 km per liter. I still have it for friends to drive and it's still going strong. Last july when I started working after my graduation, I bought an E30 BMW 320i - rear wheel drive is the real thing, right? And it's engine has proven really marvellous. It had already run 175,000 km but compression was awesome and oil only 0,1 l\1000 km, so I had a lucky shot. I was aiming initially for a 1973 3.0 CSi and I found one in mint condition, featuring dark blue mettalic paint and tan leather interior, which is very very rare. And the price was a very reasonable US$ 10,000 but not affordable for me now. The 320i only cost me US$ 1,000 so the choice was very hard, but easy after all - especially when your girlfriend explains it. For hobby I have a '74 BMW 2002 Touring which is light blue mettalica but after the repaint I haven't started rebuilding because of lack of time ... and that for the past two years. I may seem I have something going on with BMW's but that's just coincidence as they are affordable to me right now. If the automotive disease - and financial position - will culminate into a higher phase I'd aim to build myself a GT40 replica to have some really good fun. Drive........
Well I'm giving up speed at the moment in the pirsuit of charm, character and fun! (and keeping my license)
So my 94 Alfa 164 24v V6 Super is on its way out (when it sells) but I currently have a choice of 5 cars on the drive. The Alfa above A Mini Cooper A Citroen 2CV6 A Ford Scorpio (urgh) and my girlies Renault 5 Monaco. The 2CV has been the used lately because its just so different from anything else, great fun, but damn slow! Hab |

the suzuki, after losing a windscreen wiper on the m11 in a rainstorm is now back to full working order. it went 78mph on the very same road the other day, but braking distances are around 2 miles at that speed, so i had to start slowing down for my junction...
the caravelle is now a cult. the caravelle experience (tm) is now an essential part of any ten tenths gathering. not only is it a reasonable bedroom for one, and an ok kip for 4, it's a cracking living room/pub. if it wasn't me dad's car, i'd have a bar installed... dino, bmw e20s are just great. i believe my old car was one (a 1989 316i), and it was absolute class. the engine was great, just needed a little retune, and even when the shocks were gone i could still flog the pants off it. top speed? 120mph |

I would do anything to stand out from the crowd I can't stand my car to look like anyone elses lol! Take for instance, I used to own, a Ford Escort. It came bog standard and so on, took all the ****, plastic pannles and so on off and replaced em with stuff off of a BMW 316 M3 ^_^ It looked diffrent if nothing else |

I had a 1982 1300 Sports Fiesta when I was 19 (that was all I could afford at that age)
Then I got a 1987 Montego 1.6L when I was 22 (the engine was falling out of the Fiesta) Then I got a 1991 Rover 416si when I was 27 and then then Nissan Primera 16.si this year. My first car is the car I hold dear to my heart, even though it was unsafe to drive towards the end. I managed to part x it for £250. I was over the moon! |
