Grand Prix Support Races
I have just looked at the programme for the British Grand Prix weekend.
Why is there no national series (BTCC, F3, Formula Ford) on the program on what is the biggest weekend in UK motorsport. Its criminal |

As far as I know the powers that be (i.e the Max and Bernie show) do not permit any other championship race at the GP except those such as the Porsches which are part of the F1 circus. Therefore any BTCC, F3 etc race would have to be a one-off, non-points scoring event. Getting the teams interested in spending all that extra money would be very hard to justify. I was told that this was the reason the BTCC walked away from the GP meeting in the '90s.
