Team Australia dumps Marcus Marshall
Team Australia wasn't a three car team for very long... It's back to two cars for the Mexico City finale.

That is a major "breach" for any racing car driver

I don't think KB's reason is the whole one, but it is enough for me.

I think they have a new driver lined up already for the last race, so don't give up a three car team yet.

yes he was slow but there has to be more to it than this doesnt there ?
maybe it was a performance based cluase , not aimed directly at his speed but race results ? who knows but at least this would more than likely put Power in the seat for mexico wouldnt it ? |

Power has signed a three-year contract and was always going to be replacing Marshall next year, so it makes sense for them to start early.

Smells very much of Gore's touch. This guy supports motor racing brilliantly no arguing there, however his dealings behind the scenes especially with drivers leaves alot to be desired.
Interesting to hear Marshall's side of the story, but to me it seems he has been dudded. |

It's a shame...Marshall all of a sudden seemed to come on strong starting in Las Vegas. I don't know where all of this confidence and fast speeds were coming from, but something he did was right, and now it's almost considered unimportant.

"The breaches were serious and substantial" is strong wording for simply being on the wrong end of a performance clause.

Vegas is a very different kind of race from every other one on the calender. Read some of the driver's thoughts regarding the difficulty of it.
I cut Marshall all sorts of slack all season long beliving it was nearly impossible for a non-vetern unlike Tag to succeed on TA. Power proved that theory wrong. Last edited by Snrub; 28 Oct 2005 at 19:21. |

One good result on a setup-dependent oval proved very little. Alls eason it seemed that Marcus either wasn't ready for ChampCars, or he would never be up to standard. Increasingly it looked more likely to be the latter, and Power's excellent drive at Surfer's confirmed that the car's potential was not being approached. ALthough there hmay have been some other off-track breach of rules, his lack of pace is jsutification enoguh for the replacement.

The breaches were serious and substantial
Any excuse.I think Will showed in one race what he can do...Marcus took a season , what he COULD NOT DO. |

Oh well, one less red flag causing mobile chicane in the series is discarded in favour of an Aussie with actual talent....can't say I'm too upset....unlike Mr G's wheeling and dealings.... |

The odd part is that the young driver had driven at Sandown & Bathurst in the Team Australia Ford V8Suercar, and in the ChampCar races, with all sorts of hullabaloo in the local motorsport press....
"Serious & Substantial" can mean the cheques did not arrive in the appropriate timeframe.... that there was a behind-the-scenes argument between the primary backer that appears on Mr Marshall's helmet, regarding testing, driver development and indeed engineering prowess within the team..... ... so all this turns to poop and this is the announcement that pops out... maybe... |

"Serious & Substantial" means more then just non payment. Non payment is more like, "both parties decided to go their own way...." This is more than likely a lot more serious, and probably more substantial then we know or will be spilled on an Internet forum.

I've heard they have installed a turnstile at the gates of the WPS V8Supercar team to better facilitate staff rotation.
