Absolute Media Trophy 2nd December 2007
Anglesey Circuit Club are resuming their Winter Special Raceday this coming December. Put Sunday 2nd December in your diary now - testing on Saturday 1st December. I hadn't even started to plan the meeting when Chris Hodgen again offered prize money for the Formula Ford race. After no December meeting in 2006 - due to the ongoing reconstruction of Anglesey Circuit - who can claim the Absolute Media Trophy this year. Last run in 2005, Justin Dawkins won both heats and the Final to lift the Absolute Media Trophy.
Thanks to Chris Hodgen, the following is on offer : 1st - £150 cash plus a free personal racing website and a test in an F4 at Anglesey 2nd - £100 plus a test in an F4 at Anglesey 3rd - £75 Plus Driver of the Day - £100 Pole Position - £75 |

Gee whizz, and they say Christmas is getting earlier every year!
Should be the highlight of what will certainly be a good meeting though, thanks to Chris. Normally at this point my comment would "I'm looking forward to it already!", however I definitely want to get the first meeting of the season out of the way! |

What day is that?
We make plans and God laughs!
Can we think about March first please? How many even have 4 wheels at this time of the year? |

What's the new circuit like, shape length etc?
Have they got rid of the hairpin, and problem of flints the size of house bricks getting pulled on to the track? |

A few threads about the new Anglesey floating around on here with links to the circuit map.
Yes, they have got rid of that hairpin. But there are a couple of tight corners on the new layout. Shape: a bit like a bird in flight. |

Time has moved on since the start of this thread and it is now time for all Kent racers to think about getting their entries sent off.
Entry Form can be downloaded at http://brsccnw.com/iansmithpage.htm n.b. Since the form was produced, the circuit office has moved up to the track and the phone number has changed to 01407 811400 Reduced price testing. Please note that the Test Day on Sat 1st December has been reduced from £150 to only £75. The booking form will shortly be amended to reflect this 50% special discount. So to recap Testing £75. Two races £150. Total £225. Bargain. At present the meeting is scheduled for the National Circuit, but if entry levels for the whole meeting warrant it - and they certainly did in Dec 05 - we can quite easily switch to the Coastal or International. |

Anglesey racing, in December, some people are TOO keen.
Its the one that includes School corner, Rocket complex, Tom Pryce straight, hairpin and uses the old pit straight. I'd take it being at Anglesey in December is an experience in itself, let alone freezing your balls of just to let a race car go round for 20 minutes. The only people that will be warm that weekend will be the drivers, I'd presume. |

Would be a far more attractive proposition if it was using the coastal circuit really.

I quite fancy having a go on the coastal circuit actually so I can get a bettter idea of just how many light years off the pace I am. Also I quite fancy the skiddy bit as you come back into view down the hill.
I also think Tom Bradshaws dad ought to have a go, and someone ought to lend Peter Oldfield a car so we could pretend we were BOTH going to the shops.... In fact if it IS the coastal circuit, then I'm up for a go, although I have to say would prefer to have a drone round Oulton. Last edited by kartingdad; 19 Sep 2007 at 19:23. |

Anyway, I'm bored with all the FFF and WHT talk on here at present, so I think it is about time to resurrect the AMT debate.
Who is doing it? |

Very tempting! especially having driven one of Chris's F4's at Pembrey! the chance to have another go would be very attractive! The only problem I can see is that you may lose a 1600 driver for ever if they get a go in a slicks and wings car!

A great circuit gets better!
There with L&CCC on Saturday and was please to see that common sense has prevailed and some kerbs have now been installed. It makes such a difference in keeping the track safe and clear of rocks but provides no real advantage in using them. Just what was required. Hope they will do the rest soon. Now looking forward to AMT if Diz can arrange some appropriate weather. |

This thread is about the AMT - Absolute Media Trophy for FF1600. If you want to discuss driving opportunities with one of Chris's Absolute Racing Formula Fours', then feel free to start a Formula Libre at Anglesey 2nd December - Who's doing it" thread in Club Level Single Seaters I'd start one myself, but Asp would shout at me |

I have ordered some weather, but it was cheaper not to specify what type of weather, so you'll just have to wait and see. Last edited by diz; 15 Oct 2007 at 14:42. |

Although I sense that Mr R was talking about the prizes on offer should he do well in the race, so he is talking about the AMT and it's just you who's |

I now expect a reply about JnrJnr doing just about every race at last years WHT and probably driving the Safety Car as well in the support classes. Last edited by diz; 15 Oct 2007 at 23:16. |

I was actually thinking about someone else doing the libre race actually. I can't see a FF1600 being so much faster than a libre car that it would cause a problem anyway.
