To start with, please note that it's not only Lamborghini… May be its interesting to know what is Ligier Automotive (Jacques Nicolet planet, racer at LM himself, Pescarolo cars…). Not only the experience is huge but this company is spread on two continents. They have a partnership with Sodemo in France which is a tiny but healthy company having experience in multiple fields, from aviation diesel engines for Renault to historic engines. Much appreciated by racers, historic or modern, and of course carmakers. It looks great, much better than the digital renders, doesn't sound bad either. Although id still have preferred the V10 from the Huracan.

Seeing the pics, they also test it on the kerbs. Sounds like they know the engine position is the right one and a change of the bellhousing length is not necessary. The cooling system must be sophisticated, I seem to remember it has a extra rad for the airco system.

Wonderful.
Good practice for the mechanics to clear out crap from the radiator ducts. I would imagine this is part of the testing program. Check bellhousing length then check rallycross ability. |

While testing and run time is important, the real thing is to be ready for October. That's when all the new entrants have to bring them in for homologation. Its why they have decided to forgo Fuji and Bahrain. Once passed and have their legal papers in order, they should be off for Qatar.

Other testings announced at Paul Ricard and Spa Francorchamps before the end of August. Optimistic? A second car could be ready for testing in north Amercia early September. Realistic.

Exactly, they're doing what Isotta Faschini are doing with theirs. Testing, data collection and preparing their drivers and mechanics. Alpine will be doing similar with theirs when its ready. Same as WRT. It's the smart move, concentrate on getting your homologation, then ready for next season.

Agreed. Isotta Fraschini should "sell" cars to privateers in a very near future. And may be we'll see more than one Tipo6 LMH operated by Vector Sport. Same approach as Porsche but with less cars may be?

The 963 is far from perfect but still it's a Porsche so I think it might be difficult for Isotta to find interested customers. But if their car is really competitive, who knows

I would hope it attracts a different type of customer, more of the rich enthusiast type rather than the we want to win type, that is the point I think.
Of course IF want to win, but you are not taking on the might of VW, Peugeot and Ferrari with that being a guarantee are you! |

Oops, hope the driver is OK. Can't recognize the curve but at Paul Ricard the guard rails are far from the track.
