Silverstone Overload
Having been at the GP last weekend (3 days 4 if you count Thursday sign on) I now find that I am at Silverstone for the next 3 weeks all meetings being multi day. This weekend is BRSCC (2 days) followed by MGCC (2 or even 3 days) and at the end of the month the Silverstone Classic (3 days).
How many people are doing all of these meetings & what are your thoughts on running 4 consecutive weekends at the same circuit. |

Alan,
Have you never heard of the word variety? I was @ the G.P. as you know, this week I'm working Saturda7y & doing the stowe circuit on sunday. Next week I'm working saturday & doing the VSCC @ Mallory, followed the next weekend by 2 days (3 nights) @ Lydden in hopefully sunny Kent. |

Unfortunately, with the ever increasing expenses ,accommodation (camping being a LAST resort),fuel, sustenance, etc, some meetings have to be "sacrificed",for the sake of my pocket and my Family. In years gone by it was a lot cheaper and easier, having the caravan permanently on site;sort of 'arrive and marshal'. I suppose I could move closer, but then I'd be further from Combe. At this moment I'm undecided about which meetings to commit to.

All,
I don't know about the MGs. but the Triumphs will aim to entertain you. If this link loads for you (it doesn't for me, and I was there) this clip from Castle Combe was just a try-out. John http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Silverback |

I'm all for variety. Starting last week, with a couple of free week-ends along the way, my schedule reads Mallory, Mondello, Shelsley (Fri), Silverstone (Sat, Sun), Shelsley, Gurston, Shelsley again, Oulton, Mallory, Surfer's Paradise.
I won't be getting bored with that little lot. |

Most of the marshals i talk to would prefer if there were permanent camp sites for caravan storage over the summer season, so you could arrive and marshal, rather than fight your way through rush hour traffic to get to ludicrusly early sign on times. Maybe all tracks should allow some sort of summer season camp site at owners risk. This also may incease the number of new marshals to the fun and frollicks. Just a thought. But as we all know track owners nowadays don't give two whatists for the well fair of the marshals. Maybe a return to the better days could enhance relationships between marshals and our willingness to support one or more tracks throughout the racing season.
Well any thoughts on that my fellow campers. |

Trouble is, people abuse it. we used to have one @ Silverstone, which even us 'locals' used, problem was, people were living there & also not moving off site @ the end of the season. Still it makes a wonderful carpark for one weekend a year!

Caravan Site
If we still had the marshals' caravan site (proper) I should be V. pleased with that.
