April Foolishness
This was going to be called March Madness, but I've been kept busy with work so didn't get it finished until today.
The Club circuit is 3.96km (2.48 miles) The GP Circuit is 5.64 km (3.53 miles) Running anti-clockwise the GP circuit has a very unique feature. As usual comments, Criticism and possible edits are welcome This started off an an experiment on messing around with version 7 of sketch-up, but ended up as a full blown design albeit not the most complicated when seen in plan form. The sketchup file is over 8Mb so can't be posted on here along with the images but if you want to see the file, put your email address in a PM (Don't post in in the open) and I'll be in touch with the file over the next couple of days. |

Simply amazing! Great concept, I love it! Very little run off in areas though, but provided the walls are safe enough, thats what I like to see!

The graphics and the corner shapes are very good. Still, strangely, I'd love to go round this in anticlockwise direction on a perimeter circuit that would remove the tunnel and replace it with a right-left combination of corners leading back onto the front straight.
Apart from that, I like the concept of having a tunnel on a permanent road circuit. |

Gawd...that makes me feel insignificant. That design, and presentation is fantastic. Tunnel is a great feature, too!

It's not my first tunnel using Sketchup, but it is the first where I've actually set one on a slope to exit from a cliff face.
If you search for threads begun by me in the My tracks section, Gallant Park had a tunnel that passed under the S/F straight. |

Graphicwise the presentation of the track is superb, as ever. The track itself is quite boring to be honest. Yes, there are a few nice corners, but the track lacks combinations of corners, and there a no places for spectators that exeed the ordinary either.
Two exeptions on that: the part of the track that is exclusive for the national track is interesting, as is the 2nd corner after the tunnel, that leads to the 'ramp' up the clifface. |

As it turns out it's been good practice for my next project as I took the opportunity to try out a few things that I'll need and have hopefully worked out the most efficient way of doing. |

The initial work of the next project is done, now the devil is in the fiddly bits. |
