Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2014 WTCC Race of Belguim - Spa-Francorchamps - Round 7

Official preview as usual:

Looking forward to what may be best racing this season (along with Termas). Expect (and hope) privateb Chevrolets to battle hard with Citroens with the help of their strong engine

So far Pechito is the man to beat.

In about 40 minutes qualifying.

Only 3-4 seconds slower than GTE times set in the FIA WEC race this year, so far.

Seems that Spa is one of the most suited tracks for Citroen. They had the biggest advantage in Sector 2, which really requires good handling and that's where Citroen's year-long development pays off. However, good battle between Muller-Lopez-Loeb for pole (once again, the Q3 shootout proves to be a great addition). Once again impressed with Valente. Still I believe one of the private Chevy drivers can stop Citroens in Race 2, Hondas won't hold on on the straights.

And, it's Spa after all, and the weather may turn everything upside down. Anyway, I'm sure we will see 2 great races

That's surprising, I thought the gap would be a bit bigger then that

Yeah it is. Safe to say that the Citroëns are faster than some bronze drivers in GTE around Spa.

Indeed there was some great racing today, but... the Citroen advantage is huge.. At least Honda, Lada, Chevy guys have got a summer break to test the cars

I'm surprised about the difference in penalties for tracklimits in race 2 compared to race 1. I believe no penalties where given in race 2, where more than a few cases of exeeding tracklimits took place. Especially Valente did not learn a lot from race one, but also the first lap of Coronel, and the last lap or 2 of about everyone else were off limits.

There are only 4 types of car, and whilst there is such a huge performance difference between the four cars, this series is going to struggle to produce top notch racing. Thank goodness race 2 is reverse grid.
