2019 TCR Italy Touring Car Championship
After a great 2018, TCR Italy is ready for 2019.
Today, ACI Sport has announced the new calendar: 6-7 April Monza 18-19 May Misano 22-23 June Imola 20-21 July Mugello 31 Aug-1 Sep Imola 14-15 September Vallelunga 5-6 October Monza Still no Pergusa, unfortunately. The race format could be revised also: the grid for race 2 could be derived by the reversed top 8 results of qualifying instead of race 1. The ballast system is under revision, it could become a 15-10-5 kg instead of 30-20-10 kg. |

A Really good calendar with no significant gaps
Vallelunga as the finale like the old Superturismo would have been good, but it's just a personal thing Hope for a good grid again! If I have the possibility, I'll plan to go to Imola this year |

Nope, as far as I know. But generally some news begin to come out between December and January.

Any news about the Fiat Tipo?? Still waiting for it to start racing as a TCR car...
Only know that TechnoDom has a car and Kevin Giacon was the driver during the tests. |

The development work was slowed by the exit of the chief engineer. It seems that the car will debut this year finally |

Last years' Opels are also confirmed. Andrea Argenti with South Italy Racing and Nello Nataloni with N Motors (I think it's Nos Racing rebranded, but I'm not sure).
I forgot the Cupras by Wimmer Werk. Günter Benninger, Peter Gross and Christian Voithofer with DSG cars, Felix Wimmer with SEQ car. |

Klim Gavrilov will drive an Audi next week at Monza. Obviously, this will be a one-off.
Salvatore Tavano will defend his title with Cupra and Scuderia del Girasole. Matteo Greco will drive the second car of the team again. |

Baldan is off to do GT Open next year with Antonelli Motorsport, so I don't think he'll be back sadly.
Scalvini and Ferrara would be fantastic to have back, but it doesn't look like V-Action are returning too - they've been testing a Maserati GT4 for CIGT, but not their Alfa. BRC are moving their TCR Italy squad to TCR Europe this year, so it's possible that Scalvini could go across with them to join Luca Filippi. |

Scalvini is listed as the third driver of Scuderia del Girasole, with a Cupra DSG. I think he won't race at Monza, because he is suspended.
21 cars for the endurance championship is good. But I would have preferred a single championship... |

Not a bad race. The drivers seemed to be more disciplined with the chicanes than last year.
