Having read through the thread about Johnny Herbert's test seat with Arrows, and also having read other articles, my question is obviously the question I have titled this thread with. I read on Ceefax that, should Enrique Bernoldi fail to perform this season, Herbert could step in as Verstappen's team-mate.
As I don't know very much about Bernoldi, I want to see what people think of him, and of how well he will perform for Arrows. Who actually thinks that we could possibly see Herbert on the grid again this season? |

All I know is that Bernoldi has got oodles of sponsorship money - a helluva lot more than Pedro, and that's why poor Pedro was dropped. I can't see TWR having teh courage to drop Bernoldi for any reason unless Bernoldi was injured or went mad, because he would lose a lot of money that he desperately needs. Somehow, I always had the feeling that Johnny never had that much money in Sponsorship.
having aid all that, I would love to see Bernoldi do ell this year, he is one of 5, maybe even 6 (depends on who Minardi digs up) new drivers in F1 this year. Much interest will be focussed on the new drivers as well as Bunsen this year. |

Herbert already stated that his Arrowsdeal is in no way a backdoor-move back onto the grid.

He is also semi commited to a Le Mans & Indy programme. There must be a clash of commitments here. I'm glad that he is so popular now that he has retired from F1. SL |

The main question I am asking is: how well will Bernoldi perform, and does anyone think that we could see Herbert replacing him this year? |

So far Bernoldi is doing pretty good in the test. He obviously got the job because of his money, but he is no Rosset. It's to soon for me to tell wether he's very good, or just had a couple of good days, I don't know how he did in the junior formuleaeaea (stupid word).

Johnny already has said that he would only consider driving a race again if Jos or Enrique got sick this season, so he's not planning a comeback.
