Did Jeff Grech depart HRT after Skaifey bought the team, because I thought he was still hanging around... I guess I'm a bit cuckoo.

I think it was decided Grech's services were no longer when TWR regained ownership of team earlier this year.

Knock and run!

They both sort of disappeared quite suddenly from the scene didn't they? Also, anyone know what Uncle Tom did in between the collapse of Arrows/HRT and now?

Wasn't there a story that if Grech left HRT, there was a certain amount of time stated in his contract that he would have to go on 'gardening leave' from the V8's?...

Patterson Lakes(Kath & Kim fame) to be exact, about 20 minutes north of Mornington. Rumour has him managing a GT40 replica business down this way in the very near future.

According to some of the HRT team, (at the Winton round), Mr Grech could be found sitting by the Murray river (near Echuca) drinking Scotch.

Allegedly; sitting on a payout from Tom's thumbs, that will see him through nicely till the imposed hiatus expires at the end of the year....

What's this about the ban for Grech? Was that just what Uncle Tom paid him to do? **** off and don't come back for a while? Or is that always the case?

Any likely suspects for where Grech might reappear next year, if it is just a one-year fishing trip? I know he was at HRT for a long time, does he have history (good or bad) with any other teams or personalities in the paddock?

Off the top of my head, I know he's worked for both Larry Perkins and Fred Gibson at least. I don't know how amicable (or otherwise) his departures were.

Cashed up, he may have decided to take the rest of the year off-we'll never know. But I'm 99% certain he'll be involved with GT40 replicas on the Mornington Peninsula, in the very near future. I'm also told he has no interest in going back to V8SC.

Jeff Crech also worked for Mark Petch and John Shepperd, in the ill fated Volvo Dealer Team, with drivers Robbie Francevic, who won the 1986 Ausralian Touring Car Championship, before the team imploded, and of course, John Bowe, who Petch introduced to Tin Tops the year before.

I think Freddy Gibson gave up on V8's after 00 Motorsport sort of disappeared. What about Rodney Forbes, what's he doing these days?

He left HRT because Tom told him his services were no longer required. Next on the hit list is Mr.Skaife.

Gibson was gone before the end of 2001, GMS wasn't renamed '00 Motorsport' until 2002.
