Will be good to get some more details.
CUPRA, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo and something from the guys behind the MG TCR are in the works so far, so shaping up to have more cars on the grid than WTCR at this rate! Just hope it runs on proper tracks, and not 'ePrix' type circuits. |

I guess there is a need to merge these discussions then in order not to create similar threads |

confusing format and only about 3 laps for each 'battle'?
some battles drawn from a hat and others from results? some lined up side by side and others not? |

Im not into this at all, i can deal with the electric cars but its the time trials and 4 car races that im not into. Still, im sure theres a market for it, probably among the E Sport fans. No ones forcing us to watch it.

Lets just go ahead and do a real race, but electric? that'd be far less corny

I think probably they are trying to come up with a gimmick because at this point etcr cars being run on a weekend where ice cars are on the card will make the etcr cars look very slow. They are probably trying to hide that by running different formats that will show the strengths of the etcr and do their best to hide the weakness. I agree I would much rather see a regular race, no matter if they are slower or not.

Ugh, think the 4 car heats will ruin it for me.
And looks like the cringeworthy 'King of WTCR' from last year will be every ETCR round... |

This is Eurosport Events, after all. They make everything about as naff as they possibly can.
I still don't see the point of the "helping hand" camera man during WTCR pre-race. But really, Ribeiro needs to go. The bloke's an idiot. |

Push to pass and fightback modes too. Bleh...
Why is there a need for all electric motorsports to be so stupidly gimmicky? |

Well, they are trying to distunguish WTCR and Pure ETCR, which actually makes marketing sense.
Both series will have their audience, so let's see how it will look The format is actually complicated |

They like to complicate, and traditional fans will not spend time watching that circus.
Paris boys are taking for granted that they will have six manufacturers at the start. So far they have two manufacturers and two tuners, one of them with a tight tight budget. |

I doubt very much this series will struggle for manufacturer support in the coming years.
Every OEM wants to be linked to the electric revolution right now, and this is the first tangible series that can offer that with cars that can look like road going models. Doesnt mean the format is anything more than terrible |
