This weeks Motorsport eNews Thread

No not what I learned from it but is it just me or has the on line version gone very slooooooow to download.

A two page spread seems to take up to a minute to fully display and the zoom of a page is just as bad.

Now I'm on super quick broadband and other sites are working fine so is it just me or is it more wide spread requiring MNews to look into it??

Hopefully it's a problem of it's popularity meaning to many of us are trying to read it slowing things down.

Agreed. Found it really slow last night.

It's been slow for me for a couple of weeks, to the point where I haven't even bothered looking at this weeks issue.

Today seems particularly problematic....

I have noticed the slow down over the last few weeks, coinciding with the launch of GPweek.

My guess (and only a guess) is that they have underestimated the popularity of the two mags and the server just isn't coping with the load. It's quite amazing how much servers can choke down with a little load.

Hopefully they will be in deep discussions with the host at the moment to sort out their technical issues.

Looking at a few things the gpweek mag comes from a server in the states and the enews mag comes from a server in AUS. The ping times from the AUS server seem on par, so the server is probably overloaded doing something else.

yep, I gave up waiting for it.

Also, is there a way to change pages in 'zoomed in' view? If there is, I can't seem to find it!

That is one of the problems with Flash.

There is a company in Adelaide who do all Brightys printing that have a far better system. Itchytoe they are called.

I thought it was my connection as well, glad I was wrong. I gave up waiting half the time for pages to load. Although some pages later on in the issue loaded up very quickly so that was alright.

Like everyone else I'm glad it wasn't just me having problems with it for the last 3 weeks.

It was so slow I gave up 2 pages in and probably won't even bother looking next week.

Noticed this as I tried to look at the little video on the contents page, I normally just download the pdf, no dramas there (although a very poor quality pic of Power on the cover)

I have had this problem for a while, Last week it took me 3hrs to download the whole mag. Didnt bother this week and probably wont again. A great pity! While I think it is a great idea, for me it just isnt working. i used to buy each issue religously and looked forward to it. I havent bought one since it went monthly. By the time it comes out everything has been well and truely covered on here so I see no point buying it. I would think its a great financial loss to the publishers as i am probably not alone in not buying the mag.

Yea it's slow here as well.

I think they have a problem, unless it gets fixed I think more people are going to tune out.

M eNews if you are listening please find a fix. Maybe offer reduced quality pics as an option for faster loading. There are also other tricks you can do to pics to reduce the file size without affecting the on screen image to much (send me PM if you want). Maybe even scrap the video clip on P3
