Polling: (how) would you participate in the My Tracks Championship?
Here I am again. Sorry for opening another thread on a subject I've already opened one, but I realized too late that including a polling would be a good idea - and it's something one apparently only can do when creating the thread. Hence this thread.
Back in the original My Track Championship thread I got a little lost in keeping track whoever would participate in the event, and to what extent. The good side is that noone said it was a bad idea So, here's the poll that might clarify the situation. If the numbers are favourable, I'll start working asap. bio |

One more thing: this is a mere polling, not a definite statement, of course. If things change, you are welcome at the races even if you said you wouldn't come, or skip the events though you said you would participate.

Just to set an explicit goal: if by Friday night (CET) at least 8 of us votes to actually race in the championship, it's a success. Otherwise it isn't.
Now (Monday 3:30 PM CET), it's 3. bio |

Well, we here mostly design tracks, maybe we would need to search competitors on some "racers" forum?

You seem to have managed to totally misunderstand the point. I'm not "looking" for anyone, my intention is not having a championship with whomever I can find - I'm trying to find out if there is ay demand for something like that HERE. If there isn't - as the polling seems to indicate rather clearly - then it's not gonna happen. This simple.

Bio...
Have you considered asking in the Virtual Racers section whether anyone in there (who doesn't frequent our little section) likes the idea at racing on My Tracks designed circuits? I don't know if there would be interest but it might lead to a little cross-population between the two sections. |

SBF,
no, but, as I said, I'm not looking for participants outside this forum. If they find it and want to join, all the better, but I'm not advertising. See, it's not about doing this thing any way I can. It's about finding out if ppl here are interested or not. bio |

Well, there's still only 4 people who say they'd race and one day left to go.

is there such a thing as a virtual marshals post? I could stand at the side and wave a virtual flag for you?

Well, my fellow track designer friends, though there are still 2 more hours till the deadline I set for the polling, but I think it's absolutely needless to wait. The result of the poll is crystal clear: only 4 of us said we would race in the championship. And that's exactly half of the 8 I set as a minimum number. The results have not changed in the past 3 days, so I highly doubt they will in the next 2 hours.
So, that's it about the My Tracks Championhip - at least for now. I'll always be willing to do what I said if there is a demand for it. Seems like it's not now though. Thanks for all the 13 of you who voted. bio |
