Drivers and sponsors?
Looking at touring cars, F1, CART, it seems that Asian, South American and Mexican drivers are more likely to bring with them sponsors to race teams than their Europeans/Canadians/Americans counterparts? Why is this the case? Could it be that the latter still work under the romantic notion of being paid to drive versus paying to drive? Of course, I find it sad that drivers these days now have to spend just as much or EVEN MORE time looking for sponsors than actually racing!

Perhaps it's because companies in Asia/South America etc are much more willing to sponsor drivers, so as they can break into markets in the west. Companies in the west are already in that market so see no need to advertise even more.
