Finally the state of F1 coverage in Australia has been uncovered to the big boys in F1. After a letter from a disgusted fan, Bernie has come out in support of all the aussies
Quote "Thank you for your letter concerning television coverage in Australia. Like you, I have chased Channel 9 but it does not seem to have made any difference. You can be assured that we are not sleeping on this. I am sorry for the manner in which our supporters are being treated and thank you for still viewing. Trust me. Best regards, -(signed Bernie Ecclestone)- Bernie Ecclestone." When I first saw this, I thought it was just something some fan had made up and put Bernie's name on it. But it is true, Bernie responded, and it is on F1 pages all over the internet. However, the races at Japan and Malaysia are still going to be delayed unless channel 9 change their decision in the next few days. What I ask from all you Aussie fans is to visit http://www.f1fansvschannel9.com/ and sign the petition. There has already been hudreds of people signing the petition, but we need more!!! Hopefully with Bernie now on our side, the last two races will be show live. |

We've got buckley's chance...
1. It would be in the place of the news, definately 9's best watched show on a Sunday... 2. What is Bernie going to do? 3. Give it to 10? Look at their record with delaying Cart, 500ccs, Super bikes....it's worse than 9! 4. Can any otherTV station afford it? Ok 7, but they obviously don't give a rats about motorsport anyways... Our only hope is if some how Fox or Optus get it (back)... |

Thats where your wrong crash test. It would not be at the same time as the news. Last year we were able to see suzuka live, so why cant we this year? Dont know about you but I have a strange feeling that you will be watching Suzuka at 4 pm as opposed to 11:30 pm on Sunday. Lets just hope those protests keep coming through.

Fair Exchange
I am posting this to bring this thread back to the top of the page. However, in exchange, I want all of you to push for quals for the future as well.
This delay is dreadful, because we will hear the results of the race, and possibly the result of the WDC on the news before the race is televised. Oh Merde!! |

Isn't daylight saving having an effect on the news?
And wouldn't we be watching the V8s anyway? There is at least still a small glimmer of a tight race there now that the title is sewn up. Or would you be channel surfing between the two and miss all of the good bits?? |

Non Ferrari fans unite with Ferrari Fans, please
I heard on station 4BH this morning that Ferrari fans are up in arms because of the delayed telecast. This is because their beloved TGF will be recing for the WDC. For once in a life time on this forum, can I call on all non Ferrari fans to unite behind the Ferari fans on this one. Is there a telephone number we can ring to plead with Channel 9? We should not give up on this one because if we call them, then they will know someone cares. I am going to look up telephone book now and call channel 9, I hope all Aussies will do the same.
Aussi, Aussi, Aussi, OI! OI! OI! |

WE DID IT!!!!!!
We did it. I rang Channel 9, and left a message with the programming manager to plead with them to have a live telecast for the race at Suzuka. I put my plea on a message with my phone number, stating that any news of the race result would destroy the late telecast of the race. They just called me back to say that my plea has been answered. We will give a live telecast at 3.30.
I honestly think that we should all follow up with a sincere vote of thanks after the race. |
