Thanks to the Ordnance Survey!

In line with their efforts on the Northern Rally, our "friends" at the Ordnance Survey have issued a "new" edition of the Landranger Map 150 that will be used on the LC&ES Summer Rally and Tour. However, we will ensure that the route plots on both the Edition C1 specified in the SR's and the new Edition D so that the fun isn't spoilt.

Entries have started coming in, so get yours in soon to avoid disappointment.

Places are filling up fast, so the event looks like it will be fully subscribed. Get yours in soon to avoid missing out.

Duncan

PS Looks like the largest contingent will be Cammy Minors - where are all of the entries from A7s and GNs?

3/4 full now!!!

Strange how life is full of little coincidences. Our start/finish venue - the Lower Lode Inn at Forthampton - turns out to have been the gathering place of the inaugural meeting of the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire Motor Club in April 1903. A group of about twenty motorists set off from Cheltenham and met up with a group of motorcyclists who went via Tewkesbury.

We seem to be on course for a fully subscribed entry. Even if you can't enter, why not come along and enjoy the fun or volunteer to marshal?

Thank you all for this weekend's event.

We had over 50 people dining at the Inn on Saturday night - sorry that we had to leave you early due to some other commitments.

30 Marshals signed-on and did a fantastic job - Thank you all so much, the event wouldn't have happened without you. Congratulations to John Rogers - we'll try not to drink the bottle of Champagne, but suggest that you contact us pdq to secure it.

54 Cars and their teams set off for the Rally and Tour. Thanks to so many of you for your kind words.

Results are still provisional but will be published asap, however it looks like another triumph for Comp Sec and Navigator! They just pipped another Forumiste, who whilst better known for driving an Alvis and various TVRs was today navigating for the Treasurer. The Hon. Editor was also in the "pots" although the "keep it in the Committee" mantra could not be extended to the Chairman. (Mind you, if you do eject your Time Card half way round the second half .....)

Other highlights:

- Arthur and Marcia joining the event at the Half Way Halt.

- Prize for the most appropriate attendance goes to Bill May:

Biggest tent? - The Chairman's Palace (erected without his input - well except from 30ish years ago ).

The Treasurer informed us that the Section's funds have been well invested recently.

On a more serious note - we were too busy to take pictures to have any record of the event and would love you to send us yours.

Dad bought a 20hp Rolls of JR 40 years ago... We still have it. JPR was saying just before he left that he'd be at Prescott.

Perhaps I better swap them for a Humber 8/18...

Is there an echo here?

Humber 8/18 - no choice! Go for it

My only regret this weekend was that once again we fogot to bring our camera. So annoying.

A big thank you from us to everyone who made the day such a success.

Next event: Brooklands, 18th Septemmber.

There are some photos here http://gallery49923.fotopic.net/c217302.html but they will not be anything like as good or comprehensive as Duncan's usual set!

Thanks again
