F3 question

i was just checking the fia website looking for the formula 3 regulations but there were nowhere to be found..

i wanted to check something that i heard last night: there is no indication in the regulations that you cant race a F3 car with a bike engine, has long has it has a 2500unit a year and 4cylinders... is this true or codswallop?

i dont belive it

cheers

I don't know exactly.

If you want i have the complete Fia regulation for formula 3 somwhere...

Anyway don't know how a bike engine can fit to Formula 3 purposes, cause F3 have to have a 26 mm restrictor for air intake, and bike engines normally runs at very high rpm with less torque on lower rpm..

The restrictor chokes at much above 6000rpm, so bike engines, which prefer the 9k to 13k rpm range wouldn't be very good. If you can find a low revving bike engine then it would probably suffice. Then you'd need to tune it a lot to get ~210-230hp out of it.
