I remember a feature in F1 Racing a couple of years back - they got Luciano Burti to do a driving test here in England - he failed.

Welcome to ten-tenths CVT.
All drivers will have taken some sort of test to get a racing licence (it's called ARDS in Britain), but you don't have to have attended a race school before that. They give you instruction on the day and there is a little homework before the driving and written test, but that's it. Most of the current F1 lot have come up through Karting. They will have got all their experience there before moving up to cars. Justin Wilson gives instruction at Jonathan Palmer's track. It's his day job! |
