Cal Wells is closing his CART team as well as his multi-championship winning offroad racing team at the end of this season citing lack of sponsors as the main culprit. Dellapenna Motorsports has announced that their future is uncertain after being informed by Toyota that they will not receive engines next year. I would imagine that PPI Motorsports has gotten the same letter.
While these teams are not front runners by any means, barring daMatta's win and a fwe flashes of speed from Memo Gidley, CART needs them to help and fill out the grids as well as give new and young drivers a place to race. With these three or four cars not appearing onthe grid next year, it will certainly narrow the available seats. |

We can only hope and pray that some new team step up, or some of the one car opportations expand...21-22 cars would look a little sad...
