F3000 comes to the US

Just watched SPEED's coverage of F3000 (Brasil). Great racing ! Dare I say it.....more interesting than F1... They are covering all the races this year, and apparently next year they'll be LIVE ! I wasn't aware this was even 'in the works'. If you haven't seen it, take a look. Brasil race will be re-played today, and next race will air on Dec 1 at 8pm est.

Anothter good thing is that it will allow US fans to see the growth of the young drivers and follow their quest for an F1 drive. I would read the names of drivers that people thought deserved an F1 seat and not be able to comment because I would have no idea who they were. It will make F1 even more interesting! Now all we need is some F3 coverage!! Speed has so much potential but most of it is wasted on the worst racing series that we produce!!

Well the impression I got was that this was the first time they left Europe. Lets see, ahh with Tomas Enge and "Jungle Boy" and so on...

No Sato san, this is the same old International F3000 series... They've just got a round supporting F1 now at Interlagos.

Australian V8 Supercars. Every bit as processional as F1. Unless someone dislodges some tyres exposing a metal spike, pretty damn boring. And don't get started on the commentators.

Hardly news then, is it? Anyway, I'm glad you might be able to see the International F3000 series live in America next year, and I'm moving this thread to the Single Seaters forum, where it is more appropriately placed.

RaceFreak, in addition to the International F3000 championship, there's the Euro 3000 series, formerly known as Italian F3000 (up to and including the 2000 season). International F3000 was formerly known as European F3000.

Yep, Interlagos is off the calendar, which is a pity. Kind of takes the meaning out of calling it "International", in effect making it solely a European based series again.

Spa is still on the provisional calendar, which I'm sure must be down to a mistake.

What dosent make sense? Holding a F3000 race? Of course it makes sense. F3000 is a great series and should race at every venue it can.

Well, in a thread about F3000 television coverage in the US, how was I to know that there would suddenly without any prior discussion be a very well camouflaged reference about the lack of an F3000 race in Portugal?

Anyway, I'd be all for F3000 (F1 too, for that matter) going to Estoril. Who wouldn't want to see racing at the circuit where Jacques overtook the primadonna on the outside!!!
