Formula 4 Series around the world
There will be the new FIA Formula 4 season and a lot of national F4 Series around the world. Perhaps we can collect them with details:
FIA F4 First season: 2014 Cars from Dallara, engine 150 bhp BRDC Formula 4 Series 185 bhp Duratec engine in Ralph Firman Racing car Series existing since 2013. France F4 Series since 1993, named as French Formula 4 since 2011 140 bhp Renault engines Chassis, I don't know the chassis builder. The cars are central run, no race teams. Italian F4 The series could replace Formula Abarth. I have no details about chassis and engine details. South American F4 The series will start in 2014 Cars from Signatech, engines from Fiat (140-160 bhp) Japanese F4 I have no details about it. Australian F4 It will replace the Australian Formula Ford 2015 onwards. I have no chassis and engine details yet. It is expected the the ADAC Formula Masters will be called German F4 next season. Any more F4 series or details? |

BRDC F4 is not the same F4 as the rest. British F4 will be what FFord is now.

Gomick, apparently there will be two Japanese championships, joining Super GT and Super Formula rounds respectively.

The Series will run in 2014 again as ADAC Formula Masters with same regulations as in the past. But for 2015 they plan to run with FIA F4 Rules. |

How about all F4 series to use a spaceframe chassis, supplier free, four forward gears only, blueprinted Cortina GT crossflow engine only, and Dunlop treaded tyres?
Could make for close, competitive, and affordable racing. It will never happen , of course, because that wouldn't allow the pigs at the FIA to get their snouts into the trough. |

It is not new, but enjoys very little coverage overseas (or nationally, for that matter). There are only 4 events, 8 races in a season. Last edited by Asa; 24 Feb 2014 at 03:40. |
