Toine Hezemans

My latest search - seeking biographical (date and place of birth, occupation, etc.) and racing information on Tonie Hezemans. He raced sports cars mainly between 1967 and 1977, often driving Alfas. Thanks.

I think the Carsport Vipers were a bit special.

Loads of bad luck - 4 e.g.s off the top of my head:

Spa 2002 - Tassin collision on past pits
Spa 2003 - Hezemans (Mike) straight on at eau Rouge
Oscherslieben (sp) 2003 - JCW's misdemeanour.
Donington 2003 - Hezemans (Mike) collision with BMS Ferrari.

All of the above may well have been won by Carsport, and the perception would have been altered

The Carsport Viper was probably the fastest iteration of the car ever - it just didn't cross the finishing line often enough. The Bitter was a bit of a disaster, though.

Spa '02 was Kumpen who was taken out by the Autorlando Porsche, Oschersleben '03 wasn't the Carsport car but Alliot's Viper.

The only one Carsport could have won from those imho was Spa 2002. From 2000 untill 2002 they had a pretty succesfull programme with that car, scoring wins and podiums regularly. In 2003 though they didn't finish a single race. They were the fastest Viper by far, but they just drove the car faster than it was able to. Endurance racing = keeping your car together, and they didn't.

And the Lotus Elise GT1 too . I think Toine is a bit of a messer !!

I always remember asking George Fouche what he thought of the Kremer brothers opperation . He said that it could be good if one of the brothers wasnt a senile ****er !!! Then we continued doing kareoke with my brother , him and his manager and work up with serious headache from french beer !!!

I feel that in later years ..... he was correct .

He was racing in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft since 1974. In the beginning he was racing a Ford Capri RS and later he droves mainly Porsche 935. At the end of the 70s he droves a 935 against Stommelen, Winkelhock, Joest, Konrad, Wollek, etc.

Neh, basicly they were two small teams inside a big team. Alliot had his own Viper and his own mechanics (ForceOne), and Hezmans had his own Viper and his own mechanics (Carsport). Both teamed up under the flag of ForceOne. At least that's the story I know, as usual feel free to correct me if I'm spreading bull again

Here's a list with Alfa entries. Don't know if the info on this website is correct.

At www.formula2.net you can find results of Le Mans and the Targa Florio.

Maybe you can ask (or the moderators can move this topic) on the Historic Racing & Racing History section of this website?

Are you creating a website with drivers bio's?

VZ935 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I just recieved a correspondence from Jurgen Barth sating my 934 was owned by Georg Loos/Gelo Racing and that Hezemans drove my car in the 1976 Le MAns to a second in class..I know there is conflicting info on what cars did what but this is what I recieved from Mr. Barth the director of Customer Racing at Porsche . Hezemans was , I believe , the champion of one of the race series for the class in 1976 driving under the Gelo banner
