Vee8 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jason Richards, Ford star ... what the???

In Ford Racing's release - announcing Ray Price as the new Ford Racing manager - comes this:

“We have a number of Ford teams ready to take the next step in the V8 Supercar series, and exciting new talent such as James Courtenay, Jason Richards and Mark Winterbottom keen to make their mark."

Um, last time I looked Jason Richards was contracted to Tasman Motorsport, which I'm pretty certain runs The General's finest?

And just who is James Courtenay, anyway? Is he related to author Bryce Courtenay perhaps?

Very sub-par PR performance on Ford's behalf.

Good to see they've sorted out their leadership issues though.

Just got this release in my inbox from Racenews, where they seem to have realised their mistake and corrected accordingly

Yeah, got the correction after I'd posted here ... still, how do you make a mistake like that??? We all make mistakes but that was a big 'un.

Everyone makes mistakes now and then. Look at Holden selling HRT to Mark Skaife as an example.

Ah, good old Billy. Once again, this topic has nothing to do with HRT or MS, yet there you are, taking another (boring...) cheap shot.
It was a pretty big mistake, you would have to admit. I mean, not knowing who is on the payroll....

Amazing, Billy - you can make a Skaife bash out of anything, can't you?

Sorry, but you need to swallow the fact that Ford got it wrong on this occasion.

The wheels seem to have fallen off the Ford Wagon so to speak!! Make no mistakes I am a Ford supporter through and through. But really it is not good enough for a company like that to make mistakes like that.

Imagine the Collingwood Football Club saying how proud they are to have Kevin Sheedy coaching them????

Ford got it wrong many times, where would you like to start?

Where is Krukky these days? Still proud of his MASSIVE investment in FPR?

Yeah the wheels fell off in around the 70's when they dumped their biggest star Mr. Allan Moffat! Who I believe is/was the best all time Ford Driver/Legend They have had! They still havent yet, recovered all that lost ground from that big blunder! Then in the 80's Moffat or DJR could have had Ford backing to produce Hot road cars to go into competition against HDT These comments are from a Holden man by the way! and not a Ford bash by any means!

Yeah but at the end of the day... its still a Ford

The best thing Ford had going for it was Brocky driving them Pommite Rollerskates back in '89/'90... a Brock Falcon in its day was a nice bit of gear.

How good does star signing James Courtney feel when his own manufacturer's PR people can't spell his name properly? That's gotta hurt.

The mistake with Jason Richards could be based on the fact that Ford had pencilled him in at FPR - they wanted him, haha they didn't get him.

Foolish Press Releases, the FPR explanations just keep on comin...

HRT wouldnt make an error in that way. Three hundred and fourty two people in the Plastic PR emporium, plus Holden Legal department, Group General Counsel plus the GM, Racing at TW/PG has to sign off on every little thing coming from that group

Go HRT. Go HRT. Go Hairytom's Racing Team

Hmm, and got the Championship right three years in a row, including 123 last season. That was pretty impressive PR was it not?

Jason Richards would make good team-mate to Craig Lowndes, why Jamie Whincup?

Ford Racing do seem to be rather on the moronic side regularly....
