We should have been driving down to Le Mans today - so, been thinking ...

Things I will miss -
The race, obviously !
The roll of honour on Radio Le Mans (each of us will have our own personal additions)
The warm glow of achievement as the little guys make it to the finish
The first glimpse of the brown sign with the Group C Porsche approaching LM on the autoroute (you all know the one I mean)

Things I won't miss -
The cruise control limited drive down the autoroute
Walking through the southern underpass where the radio flips to French / then disappears / then comes back again
Working out just how much that baguette / drink has cost you in sterling
Driving back up the M20, Dartford Tunnel, M25, M1 on Sunday night / Monday afternoon

I will miss ALL of it. Good or bad. Still can't quite believe I'm sitting here listening to it at home....

Yes, I saw that! Trouble is, in the overalls and under a helmet, I can't tell the mechanics apart! In the ELMS he was wearing red gloves so we could tell which one he was!

As another member of our 'group' has already said, it's all a little 'soul-less' somehow. I'm sitting here watching Eurosport with the sound off, the audio from RLM through my guitar amp... I hope I feel a bit more excited come raceday....
