March 762
Please excuse me dumping this here but I've been searching high and low for this reference and eventually found it on the somewhat-forgotten Shellsport International Championship 1977 thread.

772-10 Gaudenzia Mantova F2 from May 1977 [F1R] although MN call this a 762 in some results. This number also associated with David Franklin's 1978 hillclimb car but I can't track down why we know that.

Allen,
A bit more from the records...... 772-4 Angeliri (Euroracing) - Written off by Mantova at Hockenheim in April 77. Rebuilt at factory around monocoque 772-14. Seen to carry pseudo chassis plate 762-6, presumably for carnet reasons (this explains the F1R references to a 762) 772-9 Markus Hotz - delivered 27 May 1977 - virtually a new car built up from the remains of 762-U1 (no doubt sold as a new car - typical March!) 772-10 David Franklin - Built using several second hand components. Fitted with front radiator and 771B nose - collected 26/1/1978 Last edited by John Turner; 3 Mar 2007 at 09:39. Reason: Chassis Archive edit! |

I presume Fischer's is really a 762, the ex-Surer car at a guess. What about the Chris Alford 762 ?

By the way Turnbull was competing in his 762 in 1979 at some of the same events Humphries was running in. |

MN 9.2.78 p.15 says Evans will be running the ex Willi Deutsch 762 with sponsorship from Sayers Haulage. Deutsch's car was 762-11 according to F1R. Cliff Sayer actually owned the car.

Sorry Steve but the Allan Humphries car is still a mystery. Didn't somebody say he was still in the Bristol area and were going to contact him?

Any evidence the Humphreys car was a genuine 762?

772-4 Angeliri (Euroracing) for Gaudenzia Mantova F2 1977 (retubbed on monocoque 772-14 after Hockenheim and wore plate '762-6')
772-9 Built from 762-U1 - Markus Hotz for customer May 1977 ... 772-10 Built using several second hand components. To David Franklin Jan 1978 - Alan Richards 1979-80 ... John Meredith 1982 [AS 8 Apr 1982 p46] ... 1977 - The season starts: Valflaunes 20 Mar 1977 - no 772s (Lapierre in a 762 + 1 742) Ampus 27 Mar 1977 - Maublanc 1st (Pozet in a 762 + 2 752s and a 742) Baglos-Sabran 27 Mar 1977 - no 772s (+ 1 742) Cagnotte 3 Apr 1977 - no 772s (Mamers and Lateste in 762s + 1 742) Chanas 11 Apr 1977 - no 772s (Pozet in a 762) Tonnerre 17 Apr 1977 - Mamers 2nd, Maublanc 4th, Lapierre 6th (Pozet in a 762 + 3 752s and a 742) However, Escappement (May 1977 p132) says of the Tonnerre event: Quote:

In 1977 Mamers has the 762 sold by Maublanc to Michel Pignard [maybe chassis 18 consigned to Maublanc 5 August]
Lapierre has Maublanc's own 762 [chassis 1?] Pozet has Mieusset's 762, delivered June 76, which is chassis 9. If Chevanne gets a Maublanc 762 to replace the ex Depailler 742 for the Euro F2 series it must surely be the other Maublanc consigned car, chassis 2. There's a rather good debate on autodiva.com about Alpines at the moment which is producing a lot of side information from the press cuttings Chris |

I own 762-06 chassis. Does anyone know something about this car?
I bougth it nearly 10 years ago, with a few parts attached. In Italy in the '70s many F2 cars were disassembled to build G6 sports car for climbing races. |

762-6 was a Ron Dennis team car in 1976, driven by Mass and Brambilla and originally fitted with the Ferrari V6 engine.

Do you know if that car mounted a different engine after the Ferrari? And if yes, what engine was it? Do you know something else of that car? |

Probably had Hart 420R by June and run for Mikko Kozarowitzky Bertram Schafer has a Ron Dennis car at Hockenheim 26.9.76. Said to have a BMW M12 but I want some evidence to prove that, and even then I'm not sure it was this car. Might have been 762-7 |
