Gasly. Stupendous result for him and the team. Brilliant job by Vettel but Bottas just wasn't good enough - should have had him - and he knew it. Great show by Magnussen too - and kudos for a good performance by Ericsson.

Totally agree with every word.I thought Vettel was driving a lot like Prost used to and any less would have lost the race.

Although a fantastic drive from Seb, its Gasly for me, brilliant drive. Have Honda picked up their game in the winter? Time will tell no doubt.

Vettel, the pressure must have been enornous. Gasly drove a superb race, however can't help but feel things might have been different if the RBs had been there.

Gasly hands down. 4th with a Torro Rosso and a Honda engine. He has been voted Driver of the day too, for that reason.

Gasly gets my vote, made some very expensive drivers look very second rate.

I voted Ericsson, because he deserves some votes as well.

I’m glad we got some Vettel votes because he drove well and was a star in the press conference afterwards
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/13...stappen-remark When Hamilton was asked about what he said about Verstappen in the room of awkwardness, Vettel answered... Quote:

That 4th place for Toro Rosso made me an easy decision.

I'm going to give Stoffel Vandoorne an honorable mention as well. he came out of T1 dead last, and recovered to 8th, and a lot of that was on track overtakes. that's a good drive, tbh.

Gasly is the obvious choice, maintaining that 4th to the end, but I'm voting for Ericsson. In what is probably the second-slowest car on the grid at the moment, he was the only one other than the top three to try a one-stop strategy and he made it work for himself, shading his up-and-coming team-mate in the process.
Vettel did a top job to hang on. Good point about Vandoorne, marcel82. He is not letting Alonso dominate him. He might not have grabbed many headlines in F1 yet, but he has been strong. |

Gasly for me, what a drive, not many people would have given him a look in, even after practice

I thought a point or two might be possible, but didn't think a fourth was likely!

Not taking anything away from Gasly or Vettel, but I'm giving it to Ericsson too.
Gasly kept his car where it qualified with a superb drive. However, Ericsson advanced several positions, and not just by luck. He finished ahead of a Toro Rosso, a Renault, 2 Force Indias and a Haas who all started in front of him. |

Lewis Hamilton! Started 9th and finished 3rd. And with one of the best passing manoeuvres in the last few years. Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon and Nico Hulkenberg in one go!
